Herriman councilman resigns after charges filed [Romney Supporter]

Herriman councilman Milton "Mick" Shannon, co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network charity, resigned Thursday after being charged with felony criminal mischief.

Shannon was been charged in 3rd District Court in West Jordan with criminal mischief, a second-degree felony, for intentionally destroying property on Feb. 10. Court documents say Shannon slashed tires and scratched the body of a vehicle belonging to a man he believed was having an affair with his ex-wife.

Shannon said Thursday that the charges are an attempt to defame him, but did not say by whom. He said he is in the midst of divorce proceedings. He plans to appear in court on Friday.

Herriman city officials became aware of the charges on Wednesday, said city spokeswoman Nicole Martin.

This never would have happened if he were not a Romney supporter.
You are a funny man.

Yeah some people just can’t deal with the tragedy of divorce. I liken it to a death in the family. It affects everyone. Now this guys stupid actions have embarrassed his family and ruined his life. Stupid.

It looked to me like most of the members of the board might be Mormons — at least several of them graduated from BYU (I know that there are many non-Mormons who graduate from BYU, so that’s just speculation).

And I meant what I said, although maybe I needed to make it more specific. An organization is not defined by a specific characteristic of the people who found them.

For example, 3 women might get together and create an organization to provide care packages for the troops. The organization would in NO WAY be considered a “women’s organization” because being a woman was not what drove the purpose of the group.

That said, I can’t say that the people who started the CMN didn’t intend it to be a Mormon outreach — except that their activities do not seem to have included any proselytizing, nor does their web site suggest a religious focus.

And I guess all I’m saying is that I understand that you have a mission, but I hate to see good organizations caught in the cross-fire.

#1,I didn't initiate placing Children's Miracle Network as a tie to these headlines; this guy did.

Supporters & potential supporters of non-profit entities should be aware of cultic connections, in case they don't want to be so linked. (In this way, it's good people know -- or should know -- of the extensive Lds connections)

Oh, it’s all inter-linked. Mormon. Mormon leader. BYU Cougar honoree. Romney supporter. Tire slasher. Future felon.
