Rafael Morales had been married about five minutes when, in the middle of his wedding, gunmen stormed into the Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Ciudad Juarez on Friday and kidnapped him, his brother and uncle. They shot another man outside.
As the bride and guests were ordered to the floor, weeping in terror, the others were whisked away.
On Monday, the bodies of the 29-year-old groom, his brother and uncle were found in Juarez alongside that of an unidentified fourth man in the bed of a stolen Toyota pickup truck with Texas plates. The corpses revealed signs of torture.
On Wednesday, Mexican state police identified the three dead as U.S. citizens from La Mesa, N.M., just 20 minutes north of El Paso by interstate.

drug deal gone bad?
Maybe, but more like a kidnapping gone bad. Either that, or a relative works for ICE, the FBI or something and this was a retaliation attack.

A friend of ours knew one of the men killed- worked with him. He said the story is one of the family members was wanted by the cartel and was in hiding. Many of the recent cartel victims are not involved in the drug trade or law enforcement as earlier victims were. The “word” out now is that if the cartel is looking for a particular person to kill and that person goes into hiding the cartel goes after family members- kidnaps them, tortures them for information about the person they are looking for and then kills them.

Who knows. Somebody in the cartel could’ve thought the guy looked at them funny. He could’ve been a waiter that gave them bad service. Or they thought his family had money. They don’t really need a reason nowadays...they run so many places along the border, and the Mexican government is powerless to stop them.

We should just legalize drugs...like Mexico did.
Mexico needs to implement the strategy of the US military in Iraq and Afghanistan.
How can you do that with a corruption riddled army and police?
