I believe that many Christians (including Jews and members of other religions) voted for Obama for four reasons.

First, McCain picked an unknown for VP (Palin had issues many of them could not overlook) rather than a known Christian like, Romney or Huckabee.

Second, McCain failed to attrached Christians due to his flip-flops or oppossing view on key issues that they considered important.

Third, Obama went to a “church” regularly, granted 99.8% of Christians would have walked out after 5 minutes of listening to one of “reverend” Wright’s “I Hate America” sermons.

Forth, and the most important, I believe that many Christians & Independents voted for Obama to prove to themselves that they were not a closet racist and by voting for Obama, they could releive themselves of any “white guilt” that they felt.
