Club For Growth Endorses Sharron Angle In Nevada Senate Race

5/19/2010 3:43 PM ET

(RTTNews) -  The fiscally conservative Club for Growth announced Wednesday that it is backing former Republican state Assemblywoman Sharron Angle in Nevada's U.S. Senate race.

Club President Chris Chocola said, "Sharron Angle is everything a pro-growth, limited-government, economic conservative could ask for, and everything Washington and the country need right now."

"She was the undisputed fiscal conservative leader in the Nevada State Assembly, and she has the courage and skill to step into the same role in the U.S. Senate," he added. "Sharron Angle is the true economic conservative in the Nevada Senate race, a candid, common-sense leader with the courage to stand up against liberal spenders in both parties."

The Club is backing Angle for the GOP nomination over frontrunner Sue Lowden and fellow contender Danny Tarkanian. She has also received an endorsement from the Tea Party Express, a Tea Party group that has drawn Sarah Palin to two of its events.

Should she win the GOP nomination, Angle would face Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the general election in November.

"Sharron is Harry Reid's worst nightmare, and Nevada's best hope," Chocola said. "Her courageous, honest style and principled leadership will do more good in six years than Reid's corrupt backroom deals and trillion-dollar boondoggles could in a lifetime."

She is the most conservative candidate, and the only one that can wipe Reid off of the map.

SHARRON ANGLE LANDS ANOTHER BIG ENDORSEMENT AS CLUB FOR GROWTH

JOINS TEA PARTY EXPRESS IN ENDORSING ANGLE FOR SENATE

The political world was shaken up once again as Conservative Republican Sharron Angle secured the endorsement of the fiscally conservative, lower-tax, limited government organization: Club for Growth.

The move comes as Sharron Angle surges in the polls - fueled by over $300,000 in TV, radio, newspaper and Internet ads placed by the Tea Party Express in support of Angle.  A recent Mason-Dixon poll has Sharron Angle neck-and-neck with longtime frontrunner, Sue Lowden in the GOP primary race.

The Club for Growth explained their endorsement of Angle as follows:

"Sharron Angle is everything a pro-growth, limited-government, economic conservative could ask for, and everything Washington and the country need right now.  Sharron Angle is Harry Reid’s worst nightmare, and Nevada’s best hope."

The Club for Growth is just the latest conservative group to join the Tea Party Express (website: www.TeaPartyExpress.org) in endorsing Angle's campaign.

The Club for Growth is one of America's leading conservative organizations.  They were instrumental in the defeat of the establishment Republican Senator in Utah and Tea Party Express is pleased to have them joining the coalition to support Sharron Angle over the establishment candidates in Nevada

Why?

She doesn't need to look like one of the elitist politicians like Boxer, Reid, Lowden, Forina, Campbell, Edwards Romney, Ron Paul (Ok Paul ain't got a stylist I'm sure lol) etc.

I'd rather have a down home person that is well groomed like Angle without all the plastic stuff myself.

O.k. Sharron it is. I was for Tarkanian before when it was just he and Lowden but considering she’s more conservative, has the backing of the tea party movement and now the funds of CFG it’s logical to switch to her with the uptick in her polling. Just please...I hope everyone rallies to her now so Lowden doesn’t get in.
