Senate Democrats today plan to roll out a $4.9 billion package of tax hikes on cars, alcohol, income and corporate profits.

According to a budget committee analysis, the Democratic 2010-11 plan includes:

-- Suspending corporate tax breaks scheduled to begin Jan. 1 (worth $2.05 billion)
-- Extending a 0.25 percent income tax surcharge that is scheduled to end Dec. 31. (worth $1 billion)
-- Extending a $217 per dependent reduction in the state's dependent income tax credit, also scheduled to end Dec. 31 (worth $430 million)

-- Raising the vehicle-license fee on cars 0.35 percent starting July 1 of this year (worth $1.2 billion)
-- Increasing the state's alcohol tax by an inflation-adjusted amount; these rates currently remain at 1991 levels (worth $210 million)

I’d like to see California’s taxes go through the roof.

Make the liberals eat their Utopia!

We voted down all these extensions in the last elections.

We just went through the largest tax increase on any citizen anywhere.

These people and our governor simply do not get it.

The NEW ballad of Jed Clampett
Come and listen to a story ‘bout a man named Jed
Poor oil entrepreneur barely kept his family fed
Then one day he was working for some food,
And up through the crowd come a bumbling fool
(Arnold that is, RINO gold, more taxes please)

Well the first thing you know old Jed’s taxes are to much to bear,
Kin folk said Jed move away from there!
Said California is no place for you to be
So they loaded up the truck and they moved from Beverly
(go’n back to the Hills they are, fish’n holes, country and western stars)

Well now it’s time to say goodbye to Jed and all his kin
They would like to thank you folks for kindly dropping in
You’re all invited back again to their new locality
To have a heaping helping of their hospitality
(Redneck Hillbillies, is what the press call ‘em now,
Clingers of bibles and guns and to Obama no bow!
Nice folks Y’all come back now, ya hear?)

They'll flee the nest they've soiled, move to your neighborhood, and start the process all over.

And in the midst of all this, L.A. wants to ban Arizona and lose a few million in contracts? These idiots deserve what they get. I have family in California, but, living by conservative values they are responsible for themselves. If they want to be part of it then I can’t feel bad.

I guess they missed the memo that you can’t tax your way to prosperity.

I know, if you welcome more illegals - why, the taxes these people pay (doing the jobs American’s won’t do) will make up the difference. < /sarcasm>

The sad thing is that when California goes bankrupt; they will put a gun to the US taxpayer to bail their sorry butts out - and they will continue their Libtard ways, getting more and bigger bail outs until the nation goes bust.

So better to further screw the citizens than give up their precious socialist polices right? I’m moving.

I agree (and I live in California). Why stop at 4.9 Billion, why not 10 Billion, why not 100 Billion?

California is going to go under and raising taxes rather then get spending under control will just make it occur sooner rather than later.

Socialism is unsubstainable. We (the nation) are going to end up paying a steep price for allowing the policticians (of both parties) take us down this path.

Sad to say but these idiots will be re-elected. Even some of my Republican friends are so liberal that they think we’re under taxed here in California! Blows my mind just how ignorant people are about this. I guess it’s hard to break 12 to 16 years of indoctrination/brainwashing that the public schools pump into them.

AKA “half-backs”...

They moved to Florida, didn’t like it, and only moved half way back home-thereby ruining what used to be a very nice place to live.
