Seriously, I don't get it. I see so many anti-Israel and anti-Semitic posts on the internet. Why not love our only real ally in the middle east?
...Well, besides the usual anti-semites, the blame-America crowd see Israel as just a micro-cosm of US power. Their hate for Israel is really just of the US and its capitalist society (which goes to a whole other level of hate.)
Really, in their eyes, Israel cannot be left to succeed as it dashes their hopes of a full US collapse.

Israel gives in to just about everything the world demands of them and what do they get back?
Israel has given up too much of its land. And what do they get back?
Most Christians love Israel. Atheists, not so much.

You answered your own question-- antisemitism, as in Jew-hatred. If Israel was an enclave of some obscure moslem sect, the other muzzies might look down on them but the rest of the world would never give them a second thought.
Because so many countries have been Socialized. That’s why.
People hate Israel for the same reason they hate America, Western Civilization, white people, God, Jesus, rationality and truth. It is all in Genesis Chapter 3. Those who hate God are tricked by the Evil One into thinking that disobeying God will lead to power and freedom.
People hate Israel because it is filled with Jews. If there were no Jews in Israel, then Israel would no longer be hated.
People hate the Jews because they are the chosen people. They have been around for over 5,000 years and they continue to thrive. No other ethnic group can compare with that record. So if you believe in the superiority of your ethnic group - then eventually you are going to have to start hating the Jews - because as long as they exist, your ethnic group will pale in comparison. The Nazis understood this, which is why they tried to destroy the Jews. The Arabs, also understand this which is why they also are trying to destroy the Jews.
Dennis Prager’s book is excellent and set the foundation for further studies, if you choose, into the issue of antisemitism. It really is an excellent book and not a very long or difficult read at all. Prager delivers (not surprisingly).

Leftists goal is the Destruction of Western Civilization.
Judaism is foundational to Western Civilization.
Israel is a bulwark of Western Civilization in an otherwise anti-Western Middle East.
To destroy Israel is good for leftists: It undermines the theology, morality, geography and politics of Western Civilization.
Our continued existence, depite the efforts of so many, is proof of G-d’s existence.
And if there is a G-d, they will be judged for their actions.

Because the Israelis are more Western & similar to us ie. a lot of them have grandparents who were brought up in Western Europe, the US etc.
What I mean is a lot of the anti-semites may not be anti Jewish in the historical way, but they are lefties, and my theory is that lefties (or at least the ones over here) perhaps have a sense of self hate. They see robust and confident societies like Israel and America, and for reasons beyond me, choose to align themselves with the supposed ‘underdog’ ; who happen to be the Angry Muslims.
Funny when you look at this in depth; a lot of the pro Hamas are committed socialists, confirmed athiests, womens lib types, even an organisation calling themselves ‘Gays For Palestine’.
The fact that those masked youths in Gaza would slit their throats seems to have escaped them.
Look at the nations that dominate the United Nations.
The world is not a nice place and there are a few shining lights that the despots want snuffed out.
