Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ): "The fight is about who is going to run public education in New Jersey. The parents and the people they elect or the mindless, faceless union leaders who decide that they're going to be the ones who run it because they have the money and the authority to bully around school boards and local councils. So, listen, I know I don't make myself the most popular guy in the world by having this fight, but [if] we don't win this fight, there's no other fights left. This is the fight we have to fight, this is the fight we have to win for the kids."

He’s got it in a nutshell. The great divide in this country is between the public sector and private sector. As the economy slides, the public sector is going to get increasingly brazen in its attempt to extort money and jobs from the private sector. It’s the only way they can exist, let alone grow.
Christie is calling a spade a spade.
As their house of cards collapses, they’re going to look for ANY way to keep it going - including confiscating our savings, etc.
Look for it, prepare for it.
He makes this grandma swoon! There’s nothing sexier than a real man. Go Christie!
And I bet if he punched one of those union thugs they would go DOWN! He needs to play a little Jeff Beck “Goin’ DOWN!”
One can only imagine the threats and vituperation Cristie has gotten from the teacher unions and the union thugs
This guy is the total shiznitt! I’m wondering if we have a presidential candidate for the future here...
Good grief—he not only gets it, he crystalizes it! He’s identified the sides and fixed the terms of the debate. My new hero.
I have been waiting for decades to see anyone, any governor, Senator, ANYONE take on a full frontal assault against the teachers unions.
There was a popular movie back in the late 60’s, “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” that used a line that I now have to paraphrase: give me a child at an impressionable age, and s/he is mine for the rest of her life.
Are parents so willing to turn their children’s minds over to teachers under the influence of the union’s agenda? Their thinking, their philosophy is telegraphed to those students every single day for 6 hours a day. We’ve been doing it for 40 years. It only got worse when Carter created the Department of Education.
God Bless Gov. Christie.
Taking on the public-sector unions may look like an impossible task, but few thought Margaret Thatcher could beat the unions in Britain in her day. It has to start somewhere. NJ seems as good a place as any.
That ad was 15-years ago. Do you have any links for Christie's recent statements on guns? A platform?
I love it!
Oops. Now you've stepped in it. PC police on their way.
Clearly he is learned from the Schwarznegger Epic FAIL.
He is not gonna let them roll him in NJ.
The exact quote is: Give me a girl at an impressionable age and she is mine for life.

That’s a website of quotes from the movie.
And, I daresay, I am proud to have come as close after having seen the movie once, in the late 60’s. Just don’t ask me to remember what we had for breakfast this morning.
Obamaman and his union supporters continue to Destroy the USA. Its time for the Young and Able to emigrate...
****
uhhh ... to where?
Gov Christie is a breath of fresh air. If only we had about 500 of him, we could turn this country around and fast.
Christie is walking the walk. He is better than I thought he would be.
