Remember that the Pope was a Nazi (socialist) in his youth. Antisemitism is at the forefront of nazi and socialist ideology. The Jews and true Chrisitans need to speak out against this guy since he's doing exactly what the terror flotilla "peace activists" aimed to do: de-legitimize Israel and Israel's security.

Socialist Antisemitism and Anti-zionism

Either that, or pathetic Dhimmitude.

This is exactly what the Israelis have done to the Palestinians in Gaza. A couple of fruit stands and a restaurant don't feed 1.5 million people.

Try thousands of tonnes of food a day.
By the way, under Israel before the Intefadah, Israel built roads, schools and hospitals. Population tripled and life expectancy grew by 50%. They were also richer than the Egyptians. Of course, this did not stop Israel from trying to turn Gaza back over to Egypt in 1979.

...this guy need to be impeached.

LOL

You're usually pretty mind mannered on this type of topic. There must be something that has really bothered you about Israel not being supported by all Christians even though it is surrounded by muslims that are actively seeking ways to kill all the Jews. Next thing you know you won't believe islam is a religion of peace. ;-)

I honestly don’t think the people pay that much attention to the politicians they elect. What has been seen after the last election is that the people didn’t get what they thought they would get. The politicians will say anything to get elected. Then, once in office, they put in place policies the people never wanted. Finding honest politicians is the key.

Joseph Ratzinger had a cousin with Down Syndrome who was just a couple years younger than himself.

In 1941, German "therapists" arrived at the boy's home and took him away -- telling his parents of the new governmental regulations against mentally disabled children living at home.

Despite pleas from the boy's family, German officials took him away and he later became a victim of the genocide that claimed hundreds of thousands of lives of handicapped people during the war.

That same year, at age 14, Joseph Ratzinger refused to go to Hitler Youth meetings despite the fact that his whole class had been signed up automatically via compulsory enrollment.

So just to knock the Nazi charge out of the way (again), here's what the Jerusalem Post had to say about it:

Ratzinger a Nazi? Don't Believe It!

By Sam Ser, THE JERUSALEM POST Apr. 18, 2005

London's Sunday Times would have us believe that one of the leading contenders for the papacy is a closet Nazi. In if-only-they-knew tones, the newspaper informs readers that German-born Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was a member of the Hitler Youth during World War II and suggests that, because of this, the "panzer cardinal" would be quite a contrast to his predecessor, John Paul II.

...[But]As the Sunday Times article admits, Ratzinger's membership in the Hitler Youth was not voluntary but compulsory; also admitted are the facts that the cardinal – only a teenager during the period in question – was the son of an anti-Nazi policeman, that he was given a dispensation from Hitler Youth activities because of his religious studies, and that he deserted the German army.... "Keeping out of the Hitler Youth was difficult because the tuition reduction, which I really needed, was tied to proof of attendance at the Hitler Youth,"[said Ratzinger]

"Thank goodness there was a very understanding mathematics professor. He himself was a Nazi, but an honest man, and said to me, 'Just go once to get the document so we have it...' When he saw that I simply didn't want to, he said, 'I understand, I'll take care of it' and so I was able to stay free of it."

So, automatically registered with the Nazi Youth together with everybody else in his class, he had the --- nerve --- at age 14, to tell a Nazi teacher that he refused to go to even one meeting!

And drafted into the German Army, he deserted at the risk of being caught and shot. (I honestly wonder whether my boys --- or I myself --- would ever be able to find such courage.)

Let me remind you that as Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith from 1981–2005, Ratzinger was dubbed “God’s Rotweiler" beause of his active opposition to marxist liberation theology. Fox News did a special on that a couple of years ago: 2005, I think it was.

Daniel Maguire, a pro-abortion Marquette professor and protégé of the disgraceful sodomite retired Archbishop Rembert Weakland (Milwaukee), has made it his particular campaign to try to force Benedict's resignation from the papacy, or at least to smear him badly enough so that his strong stand against homosexuality, abortion, and liberation theology would be decisively undermined.

That's what the atheists Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins, along with their left-wing doppelgangers in the Catholic Far Left, are doing as we speak. With a little help from their friends: you know who you are.

P.S. to the rest: please see mine at #29 and #30.

THANKS for the added info and perspective.

I have no trouble believing you.

Personally, as dreadful as such issues are . . . I’m MUCH MORE troubled by his globalism assertions and inclinatons.

He may be an honest, earnest Christian man in an impossible job. I hope so.

Nevertheless, the globalism stuff is pure satanic from hell. And even the one telling horrific paragraph in the encyclical is dreadful enough to make me more than a little wary.

Of course, I also have less than no use for his Marian and Fatima blasphemies etc. either.

LOL . . . BTW, you might take care to put more distance between hubby’s screen name and mine, next time. Wouldn’t want him to break out in hives.

The Vatican is a walled city and keep out all undesirables and weapons. Israel wants to keep weapons such as rockets and missiles, RPGs out of Gaza. Make it a gun free zone which liberals are supposed to like I thought.

You're reciting propaganda, Mrs. D. There is no evidence any of that took place. For all we know the family handed over the child with Down Syndrome to the state which many many parents did in those days, not only in Germany but in this country, too.

Read up on this country's eugenics history. It's not pretty.

Ratzinger, as Marlowe pointed out, has struck out so many times that his team should be out of the league.

He was in the Hitler Youth.

His father was an SS officer (regardless of all the footwork to erase that history.)

He was head of the Office of the Inquisition during the most recent pederast priest scandals where he covered up the sins of these priests, protected the priests at the expense of the victims, and is now morally and criminally liable for the pain and suffering of thousands of children world-wide.

He cozies up to terrorists and provides a televised stage for and shakes hands with jihadist terrorists like Sheikh Taysir al-Tamimi. Twice.

He defends Gaza Palestinians over the Jews.

He condemns all other Christian churches as "defective."

And he writes an insidious "global authority" encyclical which is pure communism from first page to last where he asserts the need for the United States and the rest of the world to put their sovereignty, politics, economics, immigration policies, food distribution, education, welfare and religion under the absolute control of a single "global authority" who has the power of enforcement "with teeth."

Step back, folks, and really examine this. If some two-bit dictator had done all this he would have been run out of town long ago.

The sad fact is not that Ratzinger is all these things and thus unfit to be pope. The sad fact is that to be pope all these things are just fine with the magisterium and the laity.

Rome does not change. Tyrants never do.

Mrs. Don-o is a very decent person and would not knowingly spread propaganda, Dr. Eckleburg. She's trying to defend her faith as best she knows how.

You and I agree more often than not, theologically, but not always. I wouldn't expect you to accuse me of propagandizing in those areas where we disagree, I would expect a little more care to be taken.

I have my own disagreements with her theology, as obviously do you, but treat Mrs. Don-o the same, please.

I did not cast aspersions on Mrs. D. I don't know if she is aware what she is putting forth is propaganda. To have made that assumption would have been against the rules of the FR RF.

But that does not change the fact the link she offered is propaganda, nonetheless.
