THANK YOU for the links . . . I just listened to the Laura Bush interview — loved it (particularly the part where she explained Barbara’s answer to Chris Wallace’s ‘healthcare question’— it was not what the MSM/Wallace purported it to be)!

Hi everyone, it's been kinda quiet around here, so I thought I'd bring you some brand-new news and photos on President Bush. He was in Seoul, South Korea today to speak on the 60th anniversary of the Korean War and he slammed the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-ll.

"Bush blasts N.Korea's Kim for wasting resources"

Glad to see the news of OUR president’s trip to Korea. He acts more like a president when he’s retired than the current boob in the white house ever could!

Thanks for the link to the Facebook page. Sometimes I just get so busy that I don’t find the time to go there, and I should! There is always new information and it’s just good to know that this man is still active around the world as a REAL ambassador for our country!

Wow! Bush sure filled the bleachers full! I bet they were more than happy to see a true American President among them at last! Course we know obama’s likely off golfing or whatever....just like Bush showed up first at Fort Hood....here we have him over in the Koreans while Kim makes his threats...such a good President on the international scene.

Elder daughter is here for a couple of weeks, I'm heading to PA for a few days, and after that life should settle for a bit.

Let's work for a day after July 4th. And I'll try to bring photos (though you've seen them all on FB, haven't you? Me and the Mr posing like models. What a hoot! LOL!)

Thanks, DrDeb for the link to his FB page, I don't usually check FaceBook and miss updates like that one!

It's great that he's still active, and an avid supporter of democracy. Also, as we know, the President is a man of faith, and it's great that he addressed that prayer meeting.

My prayers and thoughts to the Bush family.

Prescott Bush, brother, uncle to presidents, dies
(AP) – 2 hours ago

HINGHAM, Mass. — Prescott S. Bush Jr., brother to one U.S. president and uncle to another, has died after a long illness, according to his family. He was 87.

A retired insurance executive, Bush died on Wednesday in Hingham, Mass., a spokeswoman for Keohane Funeral Home said. He had moved there from Greenwich, Conn., about three years ago.

Bush was the brother of former President George H.W. Bush and the uncle of former president George W. Bush.

Prescott Bush “loved life, family and friends and lived with a spirit of abundance,” the statement read.

Bush was born in Portland, Maine, and grew up in Greenwich, Conn., later returning to live in Greenwich. He attended Phillips Academy Andover and Yale University.

Bush was active in Connecticut politics as an advisor, campaign manager and fundraiser to Republican candidates and in 1982 was briefly a candidate for the U.S. Senate seat his father, Prescott Bush, held for two terms.

After graduating Yale in 1944, Bush lived in Brazil, where he helped Pan American Airways build and operate airfields. He returned to the U.S. in 1949 to take a job with Pan Am in New York City and later went to work for the Wall Street insurance brokerage firm Johnson & Higgins, where he became a partner.

After retirement, he founded the United States-China Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit organization that encourages U.S.-China trade and investment.

“Above all else, he was a devoted family man whose philanthropy started at home,” according to the statement released by his family.

Bush leaves his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth, his son James Bush and daughter Kelsey Bush-Nadeau, and six grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled for June 30 at Christ Church Greenwich.
