When asked about waivers for the Jones Act it seemed Allen had no clue that there was a possibility of suspending the law. It seemed to me he was unaware of the law or the fact that so many foreign countries had offered assistance in cleaning up the spill.

If he’s the best and brightest we have on this massive spill, we are indeed in trouble. Especially since neither O nor anyone in his cabal had any idea there was a Jones law.

“In a perfect world, the Three Stooges-Barry, Napolitano and Salazar would resign in shame.”

Dittos! I heard a report that these ‘so called’ clean up crews were stomping all over one of the oil filled marshes in La. and were seen throwing pelican eggs at each other. There is something very strange about these so called clean-up crews. They are not allowed to talk to reporters, every ten minutes they are required to ‘take breaks’, instead of cleaning up the beaches and marshes, they spend their time chatting and texting on cell phones. They were seen futilely wiping individual blades of grass in one marsh.

It’s insane!

I would imagine that Thad and others are going to ‘tell all’ real soon and it will be Obama and his administration at the center of every epic failure.

Allen is being set up to go under the bus for Obama and his adminstration's dereliction of duty.

After he emerges from under the bus, I hope he pulls a "MacArthur." If the republicans regain congress he should be called to address a joint session of congress and let it rip.

I totally agree. If Bush was still president, I truly believe that there would be a massive government and military response going on in the Gulf to mitigate and contain this disaster. They certainly wouldn’t be sitting around waiting on BP to pay for everything up front or shut the well off. All we hear from Obama’s WH is talk of lawsuits and money!

Allen is very prickly and defensive on camera. Looks stressed to the max. Talking too fast and making no sense isn’t a good sign, either. Let’s see how he survives this. Dems are so treacherous.

just the latest to have the blame tacked on him and tossed under the bus

i wondered how long it would take... after the info that the coast guard had delivered leak projections to the WH within 24 hours of the explosion (like it should have). by leaking the info, it became painfully obvious 0bama was deliberately doing nothing.

they are doing everything they can to put the blame on BP... even though the one responsible for overseeing such an event, by law, is 0bama

DO NOT LET THEM LAY THIS ON BP.

0bama is to blame for the EXTENT of the devastation... directly related to his lack of response (forget timely)

You are SO RIGHT! If anybody should be thrown under the Bus, it should be that worthless idiot in the White House. NO WONDER they didn’t release any of his college records. It’s obvious that Obama is incapable of rational thinking;especially in a Crisis of this Magnitude! Leave Allen alone and go after the One who is responisble for it to begin with—OBAMA!

I guess so. That doesn’t bother me. What bothers me are the ‘games’ going on at the WH!

I hope he does too.
I don’t think however that the republicans should wait until they regain congress. They are allowed to have minority hearings. It’s time for them to let it rip NOW imho!!

Well, the sad thing is that he was supposed to retire in May, but agreed to stay on and deal with the spill.

Needless to say, by agreeing to do the right thing, he placed himself squarely in the position of being Obama's scapegoat who can be conveniently tossed overboard at any time.

Heck, Allen has been the ONLY administration official who has exuded any sense of leadership or competence during this mess.

So naturally he must be destroyed.

Have you all seen this?

http://hotair.com/archives/2010/06/11/allen-uh-no-one-told-me-about-maine-boom-company/

No one told Thad Allen about the boom available through the Maine company!

This story has been allover Hot Air and Fox news.

I do agree that Thad Allen is being set up for the fall guy by the federal government. The coast guard should not be in charge of this operation...they can help, but they cannot be the ones in charge. Perhaps no one else has the courage to do what Thad Allen is doing.

"Rewards and honors for the uninvolved" will be along shortly.

Another project management cynic, I see. Seems like the phases just run together, faster than ever. Perhaps MS Project should be used to create a chart and assign resources...

Thanks for the link. It’s time for our side to unleash political hell on Obama over this mess. There was a replay on cspan last night of some hearings on Capitol Hill yesterday and it was so stunning, I couldn’t sleep the rest of the night. The only explanation left for such breathtaking incompetence, is that IT IS ALL BEING DONE ON PURPOSE!

Biden’s famous words after the election keep echoing in my head:

“Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you - not financially to help him - we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

*shivers*

Like any organization, when the CEO or Commander-In-Chief fails to lead, everything goes to hell. The Coast Guard does not act on its own and in the case, Allen has to be PC and try to follow confusing or bad instruction.
