Middle Class Is Abandoning Obama: He Gets Majority Approval Rating Only From Americans Making Less Than $24,000 Per Year

(CNSNews.com) - The middle class is abandoning President Barack Obama, according to data released by the Gallup Poll. The only income bracket among which a majority still says they approve of the job he is doing as president are those earning $2,000 per month or less.

During the week of June 7-13, only 46 percent of Americans overall told Gallup they approved of the job Obama is doing as president, tying for the worst week of Obama's presidency. Two weeks ago, forty-six percent also said they approved of the job Obama is doing, and last week 47 percent said they approved.

But when the president’s approval is separated by incomes groups, it is only the lowest income bracket recorded by Gallup—those who earn less than $2,000 per month—that gives Obama a majority approval rating, with 52 percent saying they approved of the job he is doing as president.

Among those earning $2,000 to $4,999 per month (or $24,000 to $59,988 per year), 46 percent said they approved of the job Obama is doing. Among those earning $5,000 to $7,499 per month ($60,000 to $89,988 per year), 44 percent said they approved of the job Obama is doing. And among those earning $7,500 or more per month ($90,000 per year or more), the highest income bracket recorded by Gallup, 47 percent said they approved of the job Obama is doing.

The last time Obama’s approval topped 50 percent among the $24,000 to $59,988 income bracket was the week of May 10-16, when it was 51 percent. The last time it topped 50 percent among the $60,000 to $89,988 income bracket was the week of May 3-9, when it was 51 percent. The last time Obama’s approval topped 50 percent among the $90,000 and above income bracket was the week of April 19-25, when it was 51 percent.

Obama’s current 52 percent approval among Americans earning less than $2,000 per month is the lowest it has been among that income bracket in his presidency. In the week of April 19-25, his approval was at 60 percent in this income bracket. It has dropped eight points since then.

The week of his inauguration—Jan. 19-25, 2009—Obama’s approval was 73 percent among those earning less than $2,000 per month, 66 percent among those earning between $2,000 and $4,999, 69 percent among those earning $5,000 to $7,499 per month, and 66 percent among those earning $7,500 per month or more.

And this is why we should limit voting to those who are supporting themselves.

Any one who is dependent on the government for their survival will only vote for those who promise them the most benefits.

Why can’t people understand this?

This system we have now is unsustainable.

There was a recent article that said a family of 4, one working, two children, and an annual income of $15,000 paid $650.00 in taxes BUT ended up with $35,000/yr. in disposable income because of Federal subsidies and programs .Guess who paid the difference ??

Whatever dude. You’re not changing my opinion. The “poor” that I know are that way because they are too damn lazy to get out and work.

That is just the example that I am trying to make with other posters on this thread. And others are defending this. The wife and I payed out over $25,000 in federal taxes last year. And I’m supposed to have sympathy for the “poor”? Ain’t gonna happen.

The “poor” wouldn’t work when there was only 5% unemployment. Now that it’s 20%, it only gives them an excuse.

There are many many people doing good and honorable jobs that the employers are unwilling to pay anymore than they do to have done. These jobs are important or they would not be there.

This is akin to saying your rectum is not not important and deserves disdain because of the crappy job it has to do and the conditions it has been given to work in. Try going without it.

I would contend that that the bloodsucking leaches are those that refuse to maintain standards that allow a family of 3 or 4 to live without the use of some form of assistance that the law of the land dictates they must abide to.

I do not care for the elitist attitude of lowlife assholes like yourself either. I would certainly hope that everything in your life that is performed by these people for you would quickly and permanently cease and if you want or need these services you would have to take the time to do all of them yourself.

Think that one through...

This is the divide they wanted. The dems want to crate a dependent class that will want to fight to keep their free gubmint money meanwhile painting the taxpayers as bad for not giving their money away.

It might get real ugly when the adults cut off the spigot in a few years.

The poor in my county are poor because we are in a depression papered over by trickle-down federal deficits.

I don’t care for your so called humanitarian attitude when it comes to spending my money. If you want to support the “poor” then do it, but don’t ask for my money.

“The “poor” wouldn’t work when there was only 5% unemployment.”

Some would some wouldn’t. I could care less if someone is poor and unwilling to work unless and until they ask for benefits. Not all poor ask for benefits. Not all poor are unwilling to work.

“Now that it’s 20%, it only gives them an excuse.”

Pretty good excuse

I have no sympathy, empathy or compassion for anyone who voted for this raging racist libtard.

You are spot on. Unfortunately we are talking about some of my friends (so-called "Reagan Democrats" but actually just the tail end of the Boomers with not much of a future). What now passes for thought with them is shallow emoting. The best I can do is patiently explain why what they "learned" on TV is wrong while they lash out at me for being cruel to some hypothetical victim that exists in their imagination. But I have never been cruel to anyone. But that may not last forever.

He was talking about working poor. You need to reread his post instead of jumping to conclusions.

I am not asking for your money. I am not telling you specifically how to spend it either. I am saying if you can't pay someone a wage that keeps them off the "dependent rolls" then just do it yourself or go without it. But quit being such an elitist.

I am done here, as I need to get to work at my 10-14 hour day.

"Their moment of self-indulgence to show they were big enough to vote for a black man has cost us dearly and may yet end up destroying the only nation on the planet that gives hope for freedom."

Exactly. They voted for the destruction of America.
