Question: How can we Americans prevent the Democrat-congrolled Senate and House from conducting these votes? Can we prevent them from returning to session, so they can't hold the votes?

Nothing short of martial law and a lockdown, and even that is iffy. Those that are voted out have nothing to lose between November and January, so they can vote their true, socialist beliefs, and our President will sign them into law.
Elections had consequences; making a statement against RINOs put us in the position we find ourselves today.
God. We’ve been having a lot of lightning strikes....who knows....
The leftists do seem to be afraid of the TeaPartiers. But, I’m guessing the TeaParty folks won’t be willing to camp out on the steps during the winter months.
Because those RINOs would have stood, like a stone wall, against Obama's agenda... as soon as they pulled their noses from his crack.
Short of armed insurrection? They don't really seem to let the law stop them from doing whatever they want.
Funny, last time the tea party camped out on the steps of the capitol the leftest walked right through them then accused them of yelling racist comments.
Okay...only Chris Matthews is afraid of them then.
Where has the GOP caved in to Obama? Seems they’ve been united against his agenda...
And what about, instead of President Obama, we had President McCain?
Short of martial law, nothing. The truth is that you really wouldn’t want it any other way. If there were, it could be used against a congress you approved of as easily as it could be used against a congress that you don’t like.
I wasn't indicting the entire GOP - just the squishy RINOs. McCain would not have been the complete disaster that Obama is, but he would have supported Amnesty, Cap and Trade and a host of other lib measures that would be taking us to the same ultimate destination. All in an effort to be "bi-partisan". I voted for him, but I didn't like it one bit.
Irate armed citizens equipped with a stout length of hemp rope with a notion to convert congress critters into wind chimes.
Hookers, booze, and pizza are the only sure roadblock.

How many of those squishy RINOs have voted at all for Obama’s agenda? They’ve been essentially 100% in their opposition.
And McCain would have had problems, but I know we wouldn’t have had the insane budget deficits (he’s always been a budget hawk), we wouldn’t have Obamacare, and he’d probably get other people involved much more in the oil spill.
I’m just seeing a lot of anger amongst conservatives - rightly so - but fear they will take it out on any Republican candidate that doesn’t meet a 100% perfect “conservative” position.
We have one shot to stop Obama’s agenda; if the GOP does not take over at least one chamber of Congress, it’s all over - two more years of Pelosi/Reid/Obama will be the knock-out punch.

They have been so far, although Senators Snowe, Collins and now Brown have been questionable on some key issues. At this point, they know it would be suicidal to split off from the GOP because voter anger is so palpable. If Barry had taken things a little more slowly, I believe he could have gotten more RINO support; but he essentially shut out all of the GOP early on.
I'm not looking for 100% purity, but I don't want the guy I vote for to write bills like "McCain / Feingold" or "McCain /Kennedy."
Here are some possibilities:
1. A good beating.
2. Spray urushiol (the “active ingredient” in poison ivy) into the Senate and House chambers.
3. Spray the excrement of actual elephants and donkeys into the chambers.
4. Inject members of Congress with ketamine to induce comas until after January.
5. Put them into comas by showing them pictures of Nazi Pelosi BEFORE she puts on makeup.
6. Give them IQ tests. It’ll be January 2011 before they get past the 3rd question.
7. Put them into comas by showing them pictures of George Soros before HE puts on makeup.
8. Go up to them and tell them you believe in them. They will drop dead from disbelief.
9. Put them in round rooms and tell them to pee in the corner. It’ll be January before they figure it out!
10. Tell them the 16th and 17th Amendments are being repealed, and watch them have nervous breakdowns.
