The federal government is shutting down the dredging that was being done to create protective sand berms in the Gulf of Mexico.

The berms are meant to protect the Louisiana coastline from oil. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department has concerns about where the dredging is being done.

Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, who was one of the most vocal advocates of the dredging plan, has sent a letter to President Barack Obama, pleading for the work to continue.

Our enemies must think the U.S. is totally dysfunctional while watching our gulf oil response.

I thought Obama said he was in charge. Instead, it seems all the bureaucrats are in charge.

To destroy as much confidence as possible on domestic energy, of course.

Is there any doubt in the mind of anyone that this REGIME is privately CELEBRATING the oil spill in the Gulf? Every opportunity to prevent a solution or easing of the disaster is being interfered with by one agency or the other of our government.
While the life and economy of a large and vital part of our South is being destroyed, the US Coast Guard is counting life vests, the Fish Department insists that PEOPLE count the least, the politicians thunder useless phrases, and, worse, at the behest of the US government those who have the knowledge, ability, and experience in dealing with this problem are ORDERED to keep away.
Those in government swear an oath to protect this country from “enemies, both foreign and DOMESTIC.”
Personally, I think the DOMESTIC threat is the most dangerous these days. Heaven help the USA.

Obama wants this to be an uncontrolled disaster.

Either this or the federal government is so completely inept and tied up in conflicting mandates that it cannot possibly accomplish anything. Either way, it's an abject disaster and the country is completely screwed.

I sure hope Jindal tells them to “F” off. It’s his state, his responsibility to protect it.

Dare to arrest him and it’d be a PR nightmare for Oblunder.

YES! Trying to negotiate with the feds is useless. GOv. Jindal needs to order the work to continue and call out the National Guard to protect it.

FWIW what is the Community Organizer going to do...sue?

Guess the Saudi’s hadn’t given their OK. Maybe after the Saudi king comes here he can give the green light.

Unless you examine the motives under which this makes sense,

then you’ll forever be scratching your head and saying “this makes no sense!”

But, given an understanding of the motives of this nihilistic crowd, their actions make perfect sense.

Maybe Nungesser will stop covering for Obama now.

Obama got to him weeks ago because he was too critical. He needs to let loose and rip Obama on CNN all night. If CNN cuts him, go to fox

Jindal needs to just defy them and keep it going. The problem with special interest group politics and coalitions is that no one can prioritize. Enviro’s each think they alone hold the key to the future of human civilization. In truth they are no smarter than an ancient Inca worshipping a sun God.

Continue the work, use the Louisiana National Guard if necessary.

This is an excellent test for the 10th. That is STATE land being plagued, and the STATE can and should be first to respond with THEIR best interests first. The Feds have no jurisdiction UNLESS ALLOWED!

There are plenty of out-of-workers ready to do something besides sit and watch their livelihoods die.

10) The federal government will not ask foreign nations for help

I'd change that to:

10) The federal government will not accept foreign nations offers of help

Exactly. This administration isn't working with Jindal because he's a republican. Nungesser must have gotten his talking points after criticizing obama because after zero went down there, he said he was told to call the WH before he talks to CNN and Cooper.

It’s all about repaying the Unions. Keeping the Dutch out - so unions can skim the oil. Stopping Louisiana from using oil skimmers to protect their shore - so the unions can do it. Stopping the dredging and building of berms - that’s a union job!

But, where are the unions?
