2 more bands skip Arizona over SB1070
Arizona Daily Star ^

Posted on 06/29/2010 10:15:10 AM PDT by SandRat

The chorus of artists against Arizona continues to widen because of the state's upcoming immigration law.

The Sound Strike announced on its Web site that Nine Inch Nails and Maroon 5 are the latest acts to skip Arizona in response to the passage of SB 1070.

The Sound Strike says a boycott is the most effective form of noncompliance with a law that threatens the civil and human rights of everyday people living within the state.

The group says it has become clear that to perform in Arizona, with this divisive and unjust law on the books, is no longer a neutral act.

The law states that an officer engaged in a lawful stop, detention or arrest shall, when practicable, ask about a person's legal status when reasonable suspicion exists that the person is in the U.S. illegally.

We should boycott these bands...plain and simple. The war is on.

I think we already have. I doubt seriously any of us ever planned to attend one of their shows. Both bands are clearly in the rear view mirror of celebrity and sales. I was surprised NIN was still in business and I have never even heard of the other one.

Nine Inch Nails? Please. Trent Reznor sounds old and tired. His stuff might have been cool in the angst-filled days of the 1990s but now? He sounds like a whiney 45 year old kid.

Pffft...no good bands in the bunch,as far as I can tell....
Glad to see Papa Roach,Breaking Benjamin and Finger Eleven were not among the nutbags listed.
Papa Roach has an excellent video dedicated to all the wasted Hollywood trash called "Hollywood Whore"...go to YouTube and give it a listen. It's great.

Two more bands I can mark off my list — I won’t BUY any of their products, I won’t attende their concerts, I won’t sopport the raggedy liberofascist politics...

I’m sure they’re happy as can be taking paychecks away from the myriad people who would have worked these concerts.

The money paid for a concert with these bands is just as good in Arizona as in any other state of the union.

These bands are NOT hurting Arizona,They’re hurting themselves with their stupid boycott.

Arizona wins again!

This law is a gift that keeps on giving for Arizona. It's a lousy music repellent too...who knew?

Those bands don’t care about Arizona, only that they will clock up some brownie points with their peers. These are not rebels but bought and paid for actors by Hollywood and the entertainment establishment. Dressed like rebels but, as with Hollywood in general, everything is deceptive: everybody is an actor paid to sing the chorus of the left. You can almost say with impunity that there are no real men left in Hollywood. Self serving metro types telling other self serving actor types to play pocket pool with them so that the left’s agenda moves forward into the homes of countless people.

Just from the NAMES of most of those bands, Virginia needs to pass the exact same law NOW, so they’ll boycott us too.

More great news for Arizona! I wish my state would enact the same law, just to keep such scumbag bands from ever stepping foot here and polluting the soil with their putrid presence.
