I have no idea what he was trying to make fun of. Who is it that he "likes too much"? The ambassador? The people of Iraq? The troops?

And why would he need a distinguished American Delegation to counter his liking Iraq? Is he joking that they are there to make sure he doesn't defect?

It seems he's making a North Korean joke, telling Iraq that he has handlers with him to make sure he doesn't defect to their country. That certainly is not funny to a country that just had a war to get out from under a dictator who killed hundreds of thousands of them.

However, it's funny that everybody laughed before the punch line, knowing that Biden would need handlers because he says stupid things all the time -- as witnessed by his next statement.

Did he think he would get the gratifying response W got? I know everyone here remembers when W made his unscheduled visits to the troops how enthusiastically the troops greeted him.

What the heck was “our military is a failure” bidensole thinking he would accomplish?

The dude is a d!ckhead and this is more d!ckheadedness on display.

He’s being Joe don’t ya know.
I am sick of him, for heaven’s wonder he is the Vice President of the United States and every time he speaks he makes some stupid mistake.
Perhaps old age has caught up with him. No excuses this man is not qualified to be in the position he is in now. But there are so many in this crowd that aren’t qualified and yet we go on.
November Vote

His speech is full of things that make me scream "idiot".

The creation of the United States was a conscious, a deliberately conscious act to bring liberty and prosperity to all people in the world.

Our founders could have cared less about bringing "liberty and prosperity to all people in the world". They cared about one thing -- freeing America from the tyranny of King George. No way they cared about the prosperity of Great Briton, or any of the other countries.

His speech is full of nonsense, including incomplete sentences, thoughts randomly pasted together, and contradictions.

As I’ve traveled around the world on our Fourth of July, many leaders of other countries assume we celebrate the Fourth of July because of our victory over the British in the Revolutionary War. But that They made a universal statement, applying to all mankind. They said, “We hold these truths self-evident, that all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among them, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” free of any king or potentate, free of any foreign government.

The sentence "But that They made" isn't a sentence at all, and the "but" doesn't make sense in context; at least it's nice to know that foreign leaders knew we fought Great Briton, unlike apparently a fourth of Americans.

And our inalienable rights aren't just free of "any king or any foreign government" -- they are free of ALL governments. Our rights come not from government at all.

came once again with a distinguished American delegation, because they don’t trust me alone. (Laughter.)

Because they know I like you too much.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

To an Iraqui politician, this is weakness. The kind you use to get what you want.

Biddy Biden is so out of context in Iraq, that he is worse than useless, in fact a liability to the team trying to aid Iraq in forming a geninely functional government. They certainly do not want to become LIKE Biddy Biden, thats for sure!

Then there is the part where he lectures them not to just have democratically elected representatives, but to make sure that they rig the elections to ensure that the legislature is in the correct "proportions":

"What I’m about to say is the only thing that may border on sounding like I am lecturing. In my humble opinion, in order for you to achieve your goals, you must have all communities’ voices represented in this new government -- proportionately."

Of course, this from the man who said the only way for Iraq to be a country was to split it up into three countries.

No, really...

Biden keeps bringing up his grandfather in his speeches—trying to sound like a regular Joe, I guess.

Dumba$$ is too kind a term for Old Joe. He needs a muzzle and a staitjacket. The rest of the family is no great shakes either (well considering the gene poool, it should come as no surprise). One son involved in a financial scam (allegedly). Rumors of drug use (even drug selling) have been around for yeard. And whatevr happened with his daughter’s run in with the police (Chicago, I think)? That got covered up pretty quick. Yeah, just like the Bush twins got treated./s
