I wonder what form the lawsuit will take. The best would be for a federal judge to not only overturn their laws, but to enjoin them against future actions with respect to gun laws.
If the judge wanted to, he could basically say that Chicago no longer has the ability to construct gun ordinances that exceed State law. That it is outside of their jurisdiction.
Then this would require a State lawsuit to make the State conform to MacDonald.
