Alexi Giannoulias, Illinois Democratic nominee for US Senator, [and member of the Greek Orthodox Church] supports homosexual marriage. Heres the introduction from the Greek Star (a Chicago newspaper with Greek readership):
Alexi Giannoulias, Democratic nominee for US Senator, shares why he supports the freedom to marry for all, including people of the same sex. This is something that many of his supporters, and especially Greek-Americans may be opposed to. ... He stated, There may be many individuals that may not be happy with my particular stance. The Greek Orthodox church does not allow, or support, same sex marriage. Giannoulias in the video continues To me faith has always been less about how you treat God and more about how you treat people.

dead brain alert
idiot.
He is sacrificing a natural base for sex perverts.
How many businesses have just ripped up his signs?
Another Greek Orthodox politician forsakes the Church teachings and embraces moral relativism.

It’s not only Orthodox, but also Roman Catholic and Protestant Christians that have sold out the principles of their faith for political expedience. It’s a given with Democrats — and there’s a better than even shot Republicans are gonna do it too — pretty much no matter what faith they claim.
Isn’t it a shame that faith seems to mean so LITTLE to the current crop of politicians in Government today? NO one realistically expects PERFECT men and women in public service, but the citizens of the United States OUGHT to be able to expect humble men and women, honorable, able to keep their word, sincere, recognizing that they are SERVANTS and not MASTERS....
In other words, we should be able to expect statesmen and NOT politicians. We have VERY few of the former, and an overwhelming flood of the latter today. That must change. But it must change within US first.

That should make his queer “republican” opponent Mark Kirk happy:

Alexi Giannoulias is more than a crook, he’s a far left crook. It’s one thing to look the other way when confronted with personal conduct you don’t agree with, but it’s another to give it state sanction.
How about sanctioning stolen valor?
Screw Kirk.
UofI instructor fired over alleged hate speech
July 9, 2010 (URBANA, Ill.) — The University of Illinois has fired an adjunct professor who taught courses on Catholicism after a student accused the instructor of engaging in hate speech by saying he agrees with the church’s teaching that homosexual sex is immoral.
The professor, Ken Howell of Champaign, has taught at the university for nine years. He says his firing violates his academic freedom.
A professor at the university who is also president of the American Association of University Professors agrees. Cary Nelson says teachers are allowed to express their own beliefs.
University spokeswoman Robin Kaler declined comment because Howell’s firing is a personnel issue.
The student had a friend register his complaint and has remained anonymous.
