The selective modesty of Barack Obama

By Charles Krauthammer Friday, July 9, 2010

Remember NASA? It once represented to the world the apogee of American scientific and technological achievement. Here is President Obama's vision of NASA's mission, as explained by administrator Charles Bolden: "One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math; he wanted me to expand our international relationships; and third and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science and math and engineering."

Last night I heard Gingrich pontificating on BOR’s show that he was fooled thinking Obama was not as far left as he turned out to be. Are you kidding me. Fooled?? Anyone who did not see this coming is too dumb to live IMO.

Fooled?

Good God!

We had a sack of hammers as House Speaker?

The admin mod has changed the headline on this after complaints were received. The original one was something the poster made up. Look at the comments.

I am not passing on whether or not he's an American citizen, as a matter of fact, I have many doubts that he is.

Reading English and comprehending what you read are two different things, which would serve you well to learn. You also selectively pick out minor details and dwell on them, missing the bigger picture. In addition you are an arrogant @ss to call conservatives stupid.

Get off your high horse.

That was the headline in IBD. But this article links to the Wash Post, so it is supposed to use the Wash Post’s headline, according to the rules of this forum.

Keep living in your little fantasy world, Don Quixote, the rest of us will continue to fight against him in the real world.

BTW, your tinfoil hat is slipping, better straighten it up before "THEY" find you.

I wonder what the author’s title was,
because the IBD’s sure doesn’t make as much sense
as the WaPo’s.

1984 was published in 1954. Atlas Shrugged was published in 1957.

If Liberals object, we can remind them of OUR patience for the past few years! If we can sit still for ‘changes’ so can THEY!

Yes but 1), the 'Pubbies will never do that and 2), as I have posted on other threads, the legislative process is not going to actually make any effort to repair the damage by zero other than repeal Obamacare to rewrite it in a different form.

The 'Pubbies we think are going to save us from Obama are still the same 'Pubbies that made it impossible to differentiate between liberals and conservatives in the '06 and '08 elections. What do we honestly believe has changed in 2 years??

We need to completely clean the House and the Senate - INCLUDING getting rid of the dirt that remains in the corners.

FWIW, on any given day, Dems and 'Pubbies are interchangeable in the Congress, any state legislature, or local government. We need a much bigger broom, and i don't see it coming!!

Well, ya got me on that one. I still believe that Rand’s book does a better job of defining the slippery slope we embarked upon.

That is very true. The allegorical nature of 1984 and Animal Farm appeals to a certain type of people while the anylitical descontruction of socialism in Atlas Shrugged appeals to another. Both authors have important messages.

“FWIW, on any given day, Dems and ‘Pubbies are interchangeable in the Congress, any state legislature, or local government. We need a much bigger broom, and i don't see it coming!!”

True.. and this is why we should consider ONLY uncorrupted (incorruptible) candidates, with genuine respect for Conservative values and for core Conservative voters, with CONSISTENT AND OBJECTIVELY VERIFIABLE positions on immigration, foreign policy, health care reform, taxes, education..etc.

Yep, yep, yep, yep and YEP!!!

And, ABSOLUTE TERM LIMITS!! Professional politician is just a polite way of saying professional white collar career criminal!! I DON’T want these people (like the Byrds, Kennedys and Kerry’s) who can’t qualify for REAL jobs to exist FOREVER on the public dole. 2 terms tops (1 for Senators) and GO HOME!!!

you couldn’t be more wrong. Obama and his team know exactly what they are doing. That is why they are more than 10 steps ahead of even the smartest conservative strategest. They will play the fool to play the fools.

Well, the Arabs did give us the zero.

Right… and the list of offenders includes MANY Conservatives. These people MUST go. They have had more than AMPLE time and opportunities to recognize us and what we want.

This time around... I am being more radically Conservative than I EVER thought I could be. I am SO disgusted and exasperated with the betrayal and disappointment.

This means GOP candidates absolutely MUST think straight, talk straight and DO straighter!

From here on, I will TUNE OUT any candidate:

• Who is NOT crystal clear in their responses to our questions
• Who is INCONSISTENT in their responses to our questions
• Who for ONE INSTANT, forgets who he is serving, who
• Who cannot comprehend the Conservative view of America
• Who is ambiguous about our National Security

The list is endless. I am tolerating NO MORE ambiguity from these people. THAT day is done!

GOP candidates… get serious or get lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read everything Ayn Rand wrote....but it was 30+ years ago. I probably need to get a copy and reread.

It just doesn’t seem possible that what is happening is happening.
