California police fatally shoot 15-year-old suspected of driving a stolen vehicle

Police in Southern California say officers shot and killed a 15-year-old suspected of driving a stolen vehicle.

Bakersfield police began pursuing the 2001 Acura around 9:20 p.m. Friday. They say the driver stopped, but then backed into a patrol car after being approached by two officers.

The officers opened fire multiple times, striking the teen. Police say he was pronounced dead at Kern Medical Center.

Unfortunate...but the cops have the right to protect themselves from harm.Hopefully the incident was captured on one or more police dash cams.

More info.

Police fatally shoot 15-year-old boy after pursuit in southeast Bakersfield

the front seat passenger was not located. He is described as a Black male, 25 years old, 5’9” to 6’0” tall, wearing a white tank type t-shirt.

The coroner's office has identified the driver as 15-year-old Traveon John Avila of Bakersfield.

For sure, after he attempted to assault them with a deadly weapon, his car!

He deserved it, and I have absolutely no tears for this criminal, or the family that raised him.

Need more details...

Were the officers IN the car that backed into?

Was the backing up a traffic maneuver or an aggressive act of assault against an occupied vehicle?

That should do it...
