An uncivilized violent animal was put down, by a policewoman rescuing an innocent victim. I have no problem with that. Prthaps he was still moving after the first shot, and the officer was making sure he could not carry out his death threat to his hostage, by finishing him off.
The female officer is a trained hostage negotiator. If she still considered him to be a threat, I see no reason to second guess her.
Good riddance, I say.
She *was* bleeding. The hostage taker had clearly demonstrated his willingness to inflict wounds upon the hostage. That alone validates the folliwup shots if the officer considered him to still be a threat. There seemed to be a hesitation after the first shot, like she thought she got him with the first shot, but then saw him still moving and immediately responded by moving forward in defense of the hostage, and shooting the perp motionless. Qhat’s the cop term? a “righteous shoot”?
“Seconds later, as the perp reached down to get the bottle, she charged and fired. The robber and his hostage fell backward into the ATM alcove out of view of news cameras, and it was unclear whether he was hit. The plainclothes cop is then seen in videos moving into the alcove and shooting three more times. The hostage was quickly taken away to safety, while the perp died at the scene.”
Good girl.
And then you sell his organs. Those extra shots mean a lower profit margin.
Good job by the female cop, but a sharpshooter could have taken the criminal down a number of times as he lifted the water bottle to take a swig. I’m glad she spent a lot of time on the shooting range. She must be an excellent shot with a handgun. Obviously.
Somewhere I saw a line that would be a GREAT bumper sticker: “Now is the time for all REAL Americans to put our 2nd Amendment FIRST!”
