LIVE THREAD! - Arizona senate GOP candidates Face-Off in debate - WATCH ONLINE
C-SPAN ^ | JULY 16, 2010 | C-SPAN

Posted on 07/16/2010 5:35:36 PM PDT by onyx

Tonight, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) will debate his primary challengers, former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) and conservative "tea party" activist Jim Deakin in one of only two Republican primary debates.

During the one hour debate, Hayworth will likely concentrate on McCain's 28 years in Congress with a focus on his position on immigration. Deakin said he will compare and contrast his approach in representing constituents to the "other two entrenched politicians." A McCain campaign spokesman said that the Senator "looks forward to a spirited discussion on the issues facing Arizonans."

The LIVE debate will take place tonight at KTVK-TV in Phoenix, Arizona.

Reminds me of Ron Paul at times.

You are tone deaf.

JD did do well, and he needs keep hammering at McCain’s hypocrisy, and shoot down some of this talk of Juan’s supposed leadership and point out what it has often resulted in: McCain/Kennedy, McCain/Lieberman, McCain/Feingold, etc., and his support to close Gitmo and consider any form of enhanced interrogation to be terrorism.

There are several more fertile areas for JD in the next debate.

They really did a great job. And there are supposed to be two more, too, right?

I wonder how McCain will react to that. Will he back out? Will Deakin be in the rest of the debates?

“You folks have been GREAT. I had the live feed going, but I just couldn’t bear to hear McCain’s voice. Made me feel ill. So I turned it off and just followed the comments. Thanks to *everyone* who posted!! You guys are the best!”

Agreed! Thank you, all.

You are tone deaf.,p> You're a poor listener if you didn't hear some views from Deakin that brought Ron Paul to mind.

LOL, it’s sooo hot especially since we only have a swamp cooler, but I made it. 500 calories done so now I won’t have to go to FEMA Fat Camp (did you hear how they’ll be taking our BMI and putting it in our national records?). Now I can go jump in the pool...

At the rate McLettuce is making me mad, I’ll be a size zero soon, LOLOL.

Carolyn, it will be on the CSpan website. They should have it up pretty soon. It was terrific! JD did great and McCain just looked old and worn out....and scared.

JD needs to mention the dollar amount McCain has spent trying to smear him.

I would LOVE to see Senator McCain, actually, come in third place. It would make my day.
