Is the Tea Party Revolution Imploding?
Tenth Amendment Center ^ | 07-23-2010 | Darla Dawald

This movement is you, your family, your friends and your neighbors in the street making a difference. It is the people calling, signing petitions, blogging and doing everything in their power to make a difference in their communities and states. Those are the things that will change Washington, DC, not a person on a news show. FOX News does not lead us, the Republican Party does not lead us, it is you who awoke and said “I can make a difference” and you certainly are making that difference.

Will the Tea Party Revolution implode or continue to gain steam? That depends on you. As far as leaders go, if you want to see the real leaders of the movement, simply walk into your restroom and look in the mirror. You are the People who make the movement. You are the leaders. You are “We the People”. What do you say we keep it that way?

It would be funny if this were meant as a joke. It's even funnier because it probably wasn't...

People need to become politically aware like the wake up received in Bell California.

People get pissed when their wallets get plucked, but if they can get a dollar from their neighbor's wallet they don't complain as much and that is a character/ethical flaw many Americans and others have these days IMO.

I heard about this as well...”Who” is going to go sit at this table and caucus???

Are their conservative credentials going to be vetted for all of us to see, or is the libertarian factions accomplishments in usurping the Tea Party movement going to be complete by being given them a seat at the table???

The Tea Party is currently a herd of Constitutional "stray cats" with varying degrees of beliefs and Conservative/Libertarian "credentials."

For now I'm willing to let Michelle vet those in the Caucus while we vet them on the street corners, at town halls, and at the ballot box.

With a deficit forecast of $1.5T, I doubt that the Tea Party will run out of steam. This is not merely wasteful liberalism, it’s reckless and irresponsible to the point of evil. No real American will tolerate this massive level of waste, nor will we get bored as election day approaches.

The problem is it has no goal and no direction. If it cannot gain ideological currency it will die. It must if it is to survive be dedicated to one principle and only one principle as were the founders of this country. It must support liberty and freedom, even if at times the freedom of others to do certain things offends. We can have our differences and debate them. But the struggle is as our founders understood, between those who would take away our freedoms and liberties and those who would secure them and recover those lost. That is what the tea party should stand for.

I sure hope so.

At least the "Party" that attracts self-appointed "spokesmen," and delusional "executive committees" who fire the self-appointed spokesman for giving the existing criminals in DC ammunition to use against the voluntary members of the movement.

It's time to rename the movement.

The use of the word "Party" has made it self important, controlling and a parody of the regime it was working to bring down...

I suspect the liberal left, the progressive elites, well heck lets just say all those idiots backing Obama will try to over analyze the Tea Party, its a favorite liberal tactic to belittle those that don’t spend their whole life seeking degrees in “liberal arts”.

Sorry, I’m just a truck driver with a GED, nothing much more except a loving loyal family.

Personally, I believe that is why there will never be a "leader"......it is impossible, nor do we want one; therefore, I don't see it happening.

The problem with your tunnel view of the world is that any nutjob who is loud enough and unhinged enough to claim to represent the movement will be instantly promoted nationwide by the opposition.

No one speaks for the movement!

If that is possible, it might survive.
The anger must be maintained and focused on the true enemy :

Business-as-usual criminal incumbents and the resulting corruption, patronage and unbridled spending...

I just responded to a reply that was totally off topic of the actual article, which discussed fracturing within the Tea Party movement as well as the misguided efforts to focus on DC instead of our neighbors. Did you not get that?

We always called it the T.E.A. party movement. No capital P, but T, E, and A, were capitalized, as in Taxed Enough Already.

The media (quite predictably) got that fouled up from the start.

You obviously read and interpreted it in a different manner than i did, I understood what the poster was saying, I wish that instead of flaming another conservative on FR, people would step back and tell themselves this is not the enemy.
We have enough to lambast instead of each other
Obviously you are young, or you would recall the world of Ronald Reagan that we should not speak ill of another conservative. There are plenty of people who will do that for us

That makes sense...Let the politicians fluff their beds, and let us make our position felt where it will be felt the most...

November may very well be an eye opener for a lot of people on both sides of the aisle...

The real trick will be, what they will able to do after the election...To me that is more critical...
