After reading Strauss and Howe’s “The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy” regarding the cyclical pattern of history and the generations that occur in each saeculum period (roughly 80 - 100 years), I would not have held out much hope for my kids Millenial generation, but since then I have a renewed faith in those kids, because they, much like their previous Hero generation (the G.I. WW2 generation), will be called upon, and will answer the call, to make great sacrifices to push our country successfully through the next Crisis cycle (which I think we are just now getting into)as they follow the aging leadership of the elder Boomer (prophet) generation and the bare knuckles management of the mid-life Gen-X’er (nomads) generation. Time will soon tell if the Millenials are up to the “Hero” challenge presented to them as the next Crisis catalyst reveals itself.

Anyone who voted for Obama needs to have their head examined to see if they have any brains at all.

Obama looks more like Commodus every day, truly a man-child emperor with no clothes.

Obama stays busy going to taxpayer-funded, expensive White House parties every night, flying in new chefs to cook his meals, hamming it up with celebrities, taking vacations, playing golf, and honoring himself.

As Maximus told the corrupt Commodus - “Your time of honoring yourself will soon be at an end.”

Repeal amendments XXIV and XXVI.

Do people have to bring their tax returns to the voting center before they can be allowed to vote ?

No just to register.

Do you prefer having a majority of the electorate on the dole from the government?

No just to register.

The main problem I see here is it's still easy to escape the only-tax-payers-can-vote requirement.

You might have a job at the time you register, then maybe quit your job ( or maybe get laid off ) and go on the dole later. That's not going to stop you from voting for people who will continue to feed your dole-dependent lifestyle.

Well we might as well be discussing angels dancing on the heads of pins since such a thing will never happen ... :-)

BUT ...

I would say bi-annual registration so that if one’s status changes it only lasts for a year or so; this also has the antiseptic effect of periodically clearing the rolls of dead folks and other Democratic voters.

As I said it will never happen - society will collapse under the load of the freeloaders before any change will be made IMHO. Then we’ll be back to feudal warlords running things (JK ... sort of)

Yeah, it’s not so ‘cool’ to still be living with your parents, unable to find a job, and broke as a joke. Watching all your hopes and dreams disappear is not all that fun. Especially for the naive and recent grads who are realizing that they can’t even find work at McDonalds.

The kids just thought they were voting for Denzel.

They have moved on...2 years is a long time for a 20 year old.

It’s all about the jobs. And the classes of 09 and 10 can’t find any. They’re strapped with student loans and will be forced to buy healthcare. It is they who will be earning low wages and paying off the national debt in the form of high taxes for decades to come. They will never get ahead. If the GOP had any brains, they’d be hitting campuses across the country this fall hammering this home.
