I work with a moderate democrat or two and they all support AZ and Jan Brewer.

Eugene Robinson is programmed. Nothing original comes from his “brain”

Eugene Robinson, the author of this column, is little more that a quota-filling, affirmative action recipient. Rarely has he ever written anything that went beyond "Blacks Good, Whites Bad". His crap has contributed mightily to the ever-disappearing readership numbers of the Washington Post.

In short, pay him no mind.

Ironically, Conservatives champion the issues that truly benefit Blacks: Life, Vouchers, Jobs.

Maybe Eugene prefers abortion, poor education, and joblessness for those he identifies with.

I wonder how many unemployed Blacks have been displaced by illegal labor.

Oh I’d imagine that quite a few people in the GOP wouldn’t mind Xena hurting them... even now!

If local police are ordered to verify the immigration status of anyone they detain or question, there is a "substantial likelihood" that such an indiscriminate dragnet will sweep up legal resident aliens, foreign tourists with valid visas, and even U.S. citizens — in other words, anyone who looks kind of Mexican.

How does verifying immigration status of anyone questioned automatically lead to to an indiscriminate dragnet and roundup? Is this woman on a different planet?

With an admitted unemployment rate of 10%, probably more like 16%, do these libs really think Mexicans sneaking into the country waving Mexican flags and demanding their "rights" will help the regime in the upcoming election? You have to wonder what these people are smoking. Unless the GOP really screws the pooch here (McLame can do it) AZ, NM, TX are pretty much a lock in the next election.

Can anyone explain to me why this danger looms over “local police” but not federal officials? What’s the difference? Do they have super-secret-special sunglasses (powered by Science) that looks past skin color to uncover the illegality beneath? If I were to apply the liberals’ assumption that there can be no such thing as “reasonable suspicion” of illegal status without racial profiling fairly, immigration laws would be utterly unenforcable.

If local police are ordered to verify the driving status of anyone they detain or question at a traffic stop, there is a “substantial likelihood” that such an indiscriminate dragnet will sweep up legal drivers.

SO WHAT’S THE PROBLEM?

You can always count on a liberal to want to “help” the Republican party.

I should keep a tally of articles, MSM editorial and pundit commentary I see about what Conservatives/Republicans should do, what things will really hurt them at the polls, weaknesses in their leadership, etc. Aside from a little attention to Howard Dean and the DNC, I don’t remember any observations about organization on the Left. Even now, with poll tracking favoring Republicans (a gift of Left-wing governance). I suppose there is tacit understanding that a biased media is all the Democrats need.

Does Eugene Robinson refer to the same “xenophobia” that was exhibited by Democrat, libtard progressive FDR against those of Japanese orientation or heritage? Do I need to list other cases of “xenophobia” exhibited by libtard, progressive, and Democrats in US history? Eugene Robinson had better hope not cause it will make his assertion of GOP “xenophobia” look quite amatuerish, much in the same manner as the lamearse, Jack Squat AnnointedIdiotPOTUS makes Pinocchio look ...... =.=

With this ruling by what twisted logic does this author conclude that Republicans win Democrats lose?

Dayum.

This guy is so far disconnected from reality I wonder where to start:

"This is a huge long-term problem for Republicans, who risk becoming branded as the anti-Latino party — and driving the nation's biggest and fastest-growing minority group into the arms of the Democratic Party for a generation or more."

This is the most specious argument in my estimation. I don't believe this is a SERIOUS issue for two reasons:

1. Latinos make up 10% of the electorate currently and generally vote democratic. However, middle class Latinos typically vote "independent" and are classic swing voters...and most of them are anti-illegal 2nd, 3rd or more generations American. Over the long term much of the Latino population will gain education, income...and an appreciation for the American Way.

2. Principle. There are and will be people who respect the Rule of Law. That is not exclusive to any ethnicity...but it does tend to have a CLASS division. Many Latinos will realize...over time...this is FAR better than the Rule of Man and get onboard.

I don't believe this is what the dims want it to be. It's NOT identity/race politics.

I think all conservatives can say this is a cultural, economic, security and LEGAL issue...and most CITIZEN Latinos are conservative at heart.
