Fear walks the streets of Phoenix (PC Hankie time: People who break the laws are feeling uneasy..)
CNN ^ | August 4, 2010 | Ruben Navarrette Jr.,

Phoenix, Arizona (CNN) -- It was an ethnic twist on an American classic, the kind of thing that some people consider appealing and others frightening. Pinto beans, diced tomatoes, salsa and jalapenos top a hot dog that's grilled to perfection.

It's 10 o'clock on a Saturday night at ground zero in the immigration debate.

The hot dog vendor, a woman from the Mexican state of Sinaloa, would normally be doing a brisk business. Her cart is across the street from a popular Latino dance club that used to be frequented by Mexican-Americans but is now normally crammed with Mexican immigrants.

No mas.

"The city feels abandoned," the woman tells me in Spanish. "Everyone has left."

It sure looks that way during a drive though the city's predominantly Latino west side, with its abandoned buildings, deserted homes and empty parks.

Since April, when Gov. Jan Brewer signed SB 1070 to punish illegal immigrants for the sins of the employers who hire them, estimates are that tens of thousands of illegal immigrants have left Arizona for a warmer climate in Utah, Colorado, Texas or New Mexico.

Last week, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton struck down four of the most grotesque and illogical parts of the law, including the requirement that local police attempt to determine the immigration status of individuals they suspect of being in the country illegally and language making it a crime to solicit work.

I have been watching this drama play out...

There are not enough hankies on Earth....

"That's not true," says the husband, who's worked his way up from manual labor to an office job for a jeweler. "Americans are lazy. They don't want to work."

But then, he catches himself -- and corrects himself. "I shouldn't say that," he says. "They're not all like that, but some are. They're spoiled. They think it's easy to come to the United States legally, and they speak from ignorance."

So, to sum up, Americans are lazy and ignorant. And, because it is not "easy" to come to the United States and stay, illegally, we are supposed to approve of them breaking the law.

No sympathy for law breakers. Illegal Aliens take money out of your wallet, take your jobs, and take food out of the mouths of hungry American children.

Its time to take a stand against the Hispanic Ku Klux Klan groups who push criminal Illegal Aliens on America.

And that hot dog cart lady needs to take her Illegal Alien arse back to Mexico. There are Americans who could use those hot dog vendor jobs....

“Phoenix, Arizona (CNN) — It was an ethnic twist on an American classic, the kind of thing that Pinto beans, diced tomatoes, salsa and jalapenos top a hot dog that’s grilled to perfection.”

Immigration, hell. It should be a crime to put that crap on a hot dog.

“some people consider appealing and others frightening.”

Sure, sure, it must be some kind of “phobia,” right? FTS. I want my country back.

“tens of thousands of illegal immigrants have left Arizona for a warmer climate in Utah, Colorado, Texas or New Mexico.”

People should be calling for the simple solution. Give them two weeks to self-deport, then round them up, brand them on the forehead, and have men on horseback with shotguns *walk* them back to the border. Feed them oatmeal, bread, and water, have them pick up all the trash on the roadside as they go, and shoot them if they run.

“Last week, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton”

I told them this crap would happen if they let women be lawyers and judges.

Help Texas watch her borders. Watch live on 14 cameras and report illegals. Night cams in operation

http://www.blueservo.net/index.php?error=nlg

(I caught a whole string of aliens running through the brush with backpacks on cam one night and reported it. Immensely satisfying.)

To borrow a line from the old movie Uptown Saturday Night, maybe just what the city of Phoenix needs is more midnight sleepin' and less midnight creepin'.

Love your graphic.

The ultimate test for these advocates of open borders is this. Propose to them that we register all illegal aliens and rank them in tiers like this:

  1. The truly hardworking model illegal immigrant who wants to become an American citizen, but the law is just too complicated. People who have paid taxes, learned English and otherwise demonstrated their desire to be in this category would get first priority.
  2. Hardworking illegals who are not using social services, section 8 housing and at least making a demonstrated effort to learn English and pay some taxes.
  3. Those making minimal effort and breaking no other laws and also contributing more in taxes than they are consuming in social services.
  4. Those making minimal effort and breaking no other laws but also contributing less in taxes than they are consuming in social services.
  5. Those making no effort to demonstrate an interest in becoming Americans or even green card type residents who will contribute more in taxes than they will consume in social services.
  6. The petty criminal element who limits their criminality to minor stuff like shoplifting and using a single set of fake documents to consume social services.
  7. The hard core criminal element who uses multiple sets of fake documents to game and bilk the system.
  8. Gang members, terrorists, drug smugglers and others with links to organized crime and terrorist cells.

Now ask them, would you agree to permanently deporting and barring those in category #8 if we give green cards to those in category #1? I doubt that you would even get a majority of them to agree.

In fact, the last time a vote was taken on an amendment, it was proposed to bar only categories 7 and 8 and this was the result:

A realistic national debate would center on discussing amnesty or a special "path to citizenship" for only the first three categories. It would begin with getting rid of those in category 8 before we even started handing out green cards to those in category 1, because the last amnesty more than 20 years ago promised to do so and never delivered.

If Categories 6-8 were largely gone, most Americans would agree to a special path to citizenship for categories 1-3 and the remaining debate would be centered only on separating categories 4 and 5 and perhaps determining which of category 4 had a strong enough potential to move into categories 1-3 -- a far simpler process than what we have now!

While Phoenix is in Mira Copa county, it is patrolled and in the jurisdiction of the Phoenix PD. I thought they were lax in enforcement. What's driving the illegals out of Phoenix?

These people don't seem very afraid to me.

This desecration of our flag occurred last week, on the main lawn directly in front of the Arizona Capital building on 7-31-2010....All caught on video.

I’ve heard these illegals and their Mexican pro-illegal alien supporters, spray painted, "Burn this racist city to the ground" and placed a toilet seat on Old Glory as they threw it on the ground and walked all over our flag....

I know that they have a difficult time in the city. In Sheriff Joe’s county areas, he would stop most of the nonsense in about 20 minutes. Anyone from Phoenix can address this?
