It's going to cost vacationers more to visit with Mickey Mouse starting Thursday, when Disney parks in California and Florida will raise ticket prices. Disney posted an announcement about the price hikes Tuesday on its Disney Parks blog. At Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, the base price for one-day, one-park passes will rise from $79 to $82 for ages 10 and up. Tickets for children ages 3 to 9 will go from $68 to $74. The additional fee for park-hopper tickets will jump by $2 for one-day access, to $54.

Thank God my kids are past the Disney age.
Great marketing move.
Time are tough, so... RAISE PRICES!!!
Wow. I think admission was around $30 the last time I went to D’land.
They should have a discount for illegal aliens.
I live in the Orlando area....and will not pay those theme park prices, even for EPCOT (my fave). You spend most of the day waiting in long lines for rides that break down often.
Nothing scares me more than family members coming down and want to go to Disney or Universal....little they realize most locals despise going down there
Disney’s an anachronism to any kid who grew after 1980 anyways.
Gimme Wet ‘n Wild or Citywalk over dizzyland anyday.

Such a shame...
I remember going to Disneyland/Anaheim as a child and my folks would buy the A.B<C<D<E Ticket book..E tickets were the best..I think the book was $20.00 it was the All American Experience...
Loved Frontierland and Tomorrowland!
The People Mover
The Bear Country Jamboree
The Jungle Cruise
The Haunted Castle....
*Sigh* those days have died and turned to only a memory, however a memory that last’s a lifetime!
And that’s another reason that the ONLY “amusement park” I’ll ever go to again is Schlitterbahn water park - reasonable prices, you can take your own food and drinks, and.... you can smoke anywhere that doesn’t have a roof. :o)
It’s ridiculous!....You have to go in February on a rainy Wednesday if you have any hope of riding what you want .....and of course half of them are shut down then for maintenance...forget about it!!!!!
Completely overrated. I hate spending a lot of money to stand in line. That includes skiing as well.
I will be there again this Saturday. Higher ticket prices = fewer people. The recession has really kept the crowds down this year. Even in the summer, it is not as crowded as it used to be.
They do.....they're called employees.
If you want to enjoy memories from the past go to yesterland.com. You can see old attractions from most of the Disneyland parks around the world.
It's probably bad business as well. Cedar Point, which is in OH on the shores of Lake Erie, just cut ticket prices at the beginning of this season. The result? They are having one of their best revenue seasons in a while, especially after last year when business was horrible after raising ticket prices. They did have to take an extraordinary one-time charge, which ate up those increased revenues, but without the additional revenues, things would have been MUCH worse.
For the record "gay days" is not sponsored in any way, shape, or form by Disney, nor is it advertised by them. Any group can get group rates for tickets if they buy enough of them -- it's an outside group that promotes "gay days" and they go through the same process that any other group would go through.
In comparison, the Christian music festival "Night of Joy" held in the parks (Magic Kingdom this year) is promoted by Disney.
In any case, a 1-day ticket is the least efficient way to "do Disney" -- the price per day drops dramatically once you get past 3 days. Adding a 4th day is only $8 more than a 3-day ticket, and each additional day (up to 10) is another $5.
A tad more expensive than last year, but I'd rather see a rate increase than further cuts to quality.
I wonder if they will honor any of the E tickets I have left over from the last visit.
