If he is stupid enough to have an American ambassador apologize for Hiroshima, he’s toast.

Sadly, he will be no toastier than he is today. People who still claim to support this guy are beyond shame. You can't embarrass them. Period. Since the Democrats in Congress still support him, they are beyond shame also.

If Hillary is the messenger of an apology, that will be interesting.

The Japanese, BTW, are some very racially prejudiced and sexist individuals (I’ve spent time there)-they have a very dim view of America’s more “vibrant and diverse” individuals and their women, as far as in the corporate and political world are secretaries, elevator operators, and tea-fetchers.

At the risk of sounding bad-their views are mostly dead on-they aren’t functioning out of “hate” they just see things very clearly and ca;ll ‘em as they see ‘em (BTW #2-I never heard one Japanese condemn Hiroshima, Nagasaki, or our actions in WW 2)

They must be laughing their asses off at our present “administration”

I was wondering about that.

Obama’s goose would have been cooked. The Dem caucus would have been immediately thrown on the defensive. Hillary simply couldn’t be this stupid.

Best,

Chris

They also fail to take into account that Russia had commited to a date to invade Japan from the north.

Had Russia invaded from the north, and the USA from the south the result would have been much like Germany’s: split in half (with one part dominated by the Soviets), and the country devestated from end to end by war.

The bomb was horrible, but the fact is Japan would have suffered more from a conventional invasion by the USA & Soviets then it did from a nuclear attack (as hard as that may be to grasp).

This attitude is pretty common among deranged liberals - while on jury duty last winter, a fellow juror (60 something city manager) claimed his Washington D.C. vacation was fine until he visited the war memorials - “they were too militaristic” for his lib tastes. I asked if we should apologize for winning WWII and he just shrugged. This dunce also stated his sympathy for child molesters until I said they could stay at his place and babysit his grandchildren. It is indeed a mental disorder, and if not for the atomic bombs my Dad would have been killed invading Japan and I would not be a freeper.

No offense, but it’s “could have” and “would have.” It is interesting that your verbal conjugation was correct when it involved a negative: “It is possible the Japanese would not have survived...”

Thanks for the corrections!

The Humanity of the Hiroshima bomb

It is one of the absurdities of modern Political Leftism. They want to argue that it was some how immoral to use the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombs. That we could of “Besieged” the Japanese islands and forced them to surrender

That is utter nonsense. The infrastructure of the Japanese islands was breaking down. Japan could not feed itself and relied on food imports. Instead of killing Japanese Civilians in the tens of thousands. The Leftist “Siege” would of killed millions from disease, starvation and malnutrition. Eve then there is no indication that would of broke the Japanese will. Japanese soldiers hung on various pacific islands for decades after WW 2 ended. Even after the bombs dropped die hard militarists tried to stop the Emperor from surrendering.

Then there is the question. What response would the Japanese been to an invasion and occupation. Given our recent experience with the Iraqis and “Insurgency” what do you suppose a Japanese Insurgency would of done?

It is possible the Japanese would not have survived as a people. The Japanese civilian and military casualties on Siapan and Okinawa were horrific. Give the intensifying tempo of suicide attacks by the Japaneses, the fire power brought down on the Japanese Home Island prior to and during an Invasion would of killed tens of thousands if not millions of civilians as well as military forces.

Dropping the Atomic bombs was an act of humanity that preserved tens of thousands, if not millions, of lives.
