The five-month-old Republican gay group GOProud wanted to create a big splash with its first convention, Homocon 2010 (that is a real name that we did not make up). And to do so, they lined up a whopper of a headliner. Says chairman Christopher Barron:
"The gay left has done their best to take all the fun out of politics, with their endless list of boycotts and protests. Homocon is going to be our annual effort to counter the ‘no fun police’ on the left. I can’t think of any conservative more fun to headline our inaugural party then the self-professed ‘right-wing Judy Garland’ - Ann Coulter. I can promise you, Homocon 2010 will be a hell of a lot more fun than chaining yourself to the White House fence."
Comparing Ann Coulter to Dorothy might strike you as a little odd, considering she throws around the word "faggot" in a derogatory way. (Someone, perhaps more aptly, compared her to the Wicked Witch of the West on this particular issue.) But somehow her presence is almost less offensive than the fact that Homocon's recruitment poster kinda calls all Democrats gay.

I looked over the New York Magazine website. I think I’ll be reading through it regularly in the future.

I am against gay marriage.
However, I want gays to vote Republican.
I see nothing wrong with that position. Many gays support capitalism and the profit motive. Many gays are against affirmative action.
Pretty much ALL the gays don’t want to die at the hands of terrorists.
They should vote Republican.
GOProud is 5 months old? The math is not right there. They had a booth at CPAC and 5 months ago. I don’t think they had just been founded at that time. In any case it seems that they could have thought of a more dignified name for this conference.

Legalization of homosexual marriage. They have articles cheering the progress of homosexual marriage in Washington DC and bemoaning the loss of the gay-marriage effort in New York state.
Against the Federal Marriage Amendment, which they term as "anti-gay".
Supports the repeal of the military's "Don't ask don't tell" policy.
Supports expansion of federal national health care legislation to facilitate "expanding access to domestic partnership benefits."
Having America's foreign policy support homosexuality abroad: America should: "Stand strong against radical regimes who seek to criminalize gays and lesbians" (i.e., sodomy and other homosexual behavior).
Supports special federal pro-gay legislation, including "Package of free market reforms to encourage and support small businesses and entrepreneurship in the gay community."
