Poll: Growing number incorrectly call Obama Muslim (maybe if he went to church would not be issue)

Americans increasingly are convinced - incorrectly - that President Barack Obama is a Muslim, and a growing number are thoroughly confused about his religion.

Nearly one in five people, or 18 percent, said they think Obama is Muslim, up from the 11 percent who said so in March 2009, according to a poll released Thursday. The proportion who correctly say he is a Christian is down to just 34 percent.

Once againn the MSM misses the bigger question presented by the numbers:

18% Muslim
34% Christian
48% ???????

So half of Americans actually have no idea what the President’s religion is? That’s the big story here.

If this poll had been asked about Bill Clinton in the middle of his presidency, probably 75% would have not only said Christian, but Baptist. Clinton never hid away from an opportunity to proclaim his relious affiliation, and participate in things like the national day of prayer.

It is not my job to determine who is and is not a Christian but I would be very surprised if he is. I also doubt he prays to Mecca several times a day but I do suspect he is sympathetic to Muslims.

He probably is an atheist. Attending the church he attended is in no way an indication that he is a Christian.

The MSM is so busy on its kneepads that it presumptively concludes that Obama is eligible to be POTUS and is not a Muslim.

Obama’s own actions/inactions are anything but conclusive.

I don’t have a clue about his faith. But if I had to make a huge bet it would be that he is not a Christian.

There has been just too many instances of behavior which belies a belief in Christ as his savior. He mocks Christians and misquotes the Bible. His attitude toward Islam is not one of tolerance but one of it being equal with or superior to Christianity.

But the kicker was his speech during the campaign when he stated that the USA was no longer a Christian nation. I don’t really dispute the fact of the statement. But he said it with a sense of glee. The emotions of a believer who made such a statement of fact would have been grief, sadness, disappointment, mourning. There would have been some expression of a desire for revival.
