Yes, I see from the official results, liberals did make serious gains (and they still could, it’s not over yet).
I’m always amazed here or overseas when I watch a party literally fall apart in office, go against the will of the people, fail time and time again only to find on election day people still give them their seats back.
In a just world, not a single Democrat would be returned to DC and Labor would be out on their ears!

Yes - well, Australia hasn’t thrown out a first term government since 1931. A lot of people seem to think you have to give them a chance.

Wasn’t oh....what was his name!!!! (Brain fart!!!) the first Prime Minister thrown out in ages? (Geeeeze Tami - come on....wake up!!!)
We hear the same thing here, people who still believe all the problems are Bush’s fault and the Dems just have not had enough time to fix things. I call it Head up Rectum Syndrome.

I’m not sure who you mean
John Howard lost his seat in 2007
Last Prime Minister before that to lose his own seat was Scullin in 1931.

He should have been locked up for treason.

I think the best that Labor can look forward to is a hung Parliament. I doubt that they will get a majority.

Yes - and with any luck, that will mean we go back to the polls next year. I can’t see a hung parliament lasting long.
