I am sorry, but these parents need to be brought up on charges for this kind of neglect. No question the young boy had talent, and no question the parents thought they were cashing in on it - in my opinion anyway.
Why do “you people” always want “charges” brought against people????? The flip side of Freedom is responsibility. He lost his kid. His did was doing what he loved to do. Do “you people” want to live forever? We only get 80 years if were lucky. That’s it. That’s not much time. “You people” act like that’s a forever. So freedom means you get to make choices. Sometimes those choices end badly.
Taking responsibility does NOT mean going to jail in these cases. Same argument when that 16 year old girl sailed around the world was thought to be lost.
So you really want to live forever?
You’re on the wrong board noob!
You’re no authority on any of this, so silence would be your most intelligent option.
We have a small 8th mile dirt oval near me where kids younger than this race some serious little sprint cars. I believe USAC sactions the events so safety standards are top notch.
Risking a child's life for a simple, dangerous thrill is foolish. If an adult wants to do it, fine. Children? No.
That's my opinion.
Put it where the sun doesn’t shine. I don’t have any time for nincompoops responding to this sad story.
There is a huge difference between a bike and a 100mph motorbike.
I wonder how the stats compare on youth sports deaths
baseball, football vs motocross, etc
stick and ball sports might not come off so well
might be surprising
My heart goes out to the kid who hit him too.
> “My God, I suspected these kids were the bread winners.”
.
What arrogant ignorance!
No idea how much it costs to compete in motor sports?
Get a life gramma!
.
Not when you’re the one that gets run over.
NONE of these kids would be doing these stunts if it wasn’t for VICARIOUSLY SICK parents encouraging them at an age when they believe themselves to be immortal.
NONE.. NADA.
It is the sick SICK parents putting up the thousands of dollars to get them started on a stunt the parents believe will enrich THEM. There is nothing to this sailing around the world at 16, 15, then 14, then 13 but SICK PARENTS believing they can get kid making them millions.
“But I believe that most people with commonsense prefer that the victims be a little father past PUBERTY.”
Go stuff it!!
I drove a rail and went 124 when I was 12 in 1948!
Started building hot rods and engines when I was 8.
I agree with you.
There is a reason why we do not let children drive cars. Hellsbells, even my Great Grandfather told my dad he wasn’t allowed to drive the tractor, “Until he had whiskers.”
Some common sense for our children, please.
My thoughts exactly.
Notice NOT A SINGLE ONE of the 4 or 5 supporters of this stunt GAVE A CARE ABOUT THE 12 year old that NOW HAS TO LIVE THE REST OF HIS LIFE WITH THE KNOWLEDGE HE KILLED A 13 YEAR OLD BOY.
Its the armchair do-nothings that post these weeping and wailing threads.
.
YAWN......
I FLEW AROUND THE WORLD AT 6.
Go hide in a cave somewhere you pos!
You’re a bit too new to this board to be throwing insults around just because you disagree with what’s being said.
You might want to back off a bit.
Engaging in dialogue is fine, personal attacks are not.
Ping. This kid was from Vancouver.
Well Ben Spies who was on the pole and finished second in the Moto GP race was doing this at the same age (12/13) and now he's one of the top riders. Most of the guys/gals who are at the top of 4 wheel motorsports are well along in their racing careers in their teens.
