One of two men charged by Dutch police with "preparation of a terrorist attack" flew to Chicago from Birmingham, ABC News has reported.
Bloomberg News reported the two men, whom they did not identify, were taken off a Chicago-to-Amsterdam in the Netherlands last night after "suspicious items" were found in their checked luggage.
ABC News, citing "U.S. law enforcement officials," identified the two men as Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi and Hezem al Murisi.
U.S. officials said the two were carrying "mock bombs" in a "dry run" to prepare for a terrorist attack, according to the ABC News report.
ABC News reported al Soofi travelled to Chicago from the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. Here is that account:
"Airport security screeners in Birmingham, Alabama first stopped al Soofi and referred him to additional screening because of what officials said was his "bulky clothing." In addition, officials said, al Soofi was found to be carrying $7,000 in cash and a check of his luggage found a cell phone taped to a Pepto-Bismol bottle, three cell phones taped together, several watches taped together, a box cutter and three large knives. Officials said there was no indication of explosives and he and his luggage were cleared for the flight from Birmingham to Chicago O'Hare."
Birmingham airport spokeswoman Toni Herrera-Bast said she had no information about the report.

If I was on that flight and found out about this, I know I’d make a BIG ISSUE out of it. TSA allowed them (muslims) on the flight but Joe Foss, a Medal of Honor recipient was hassled??? Unforgivable.
