I hate to say it, but I think Juan has gone racial. He’s defensive of almost everything obama. That speech last night was a disgrace.

The picture that was chosen for the "official" portrait that hangs in all government offices is worse. I have to walk past it twice a day and I can feel it watching me.

As the leader of the free world, America will do more than just defeat on the battlefield those who offer hatred and destruction -we will also lead among those who are willing to work together to expand freedom and opportunity for all people.
That effort must begin within our own borders.
Throughout our history, America has been willing to bear the burden of promoting liberty and human dignity overseas, understanding its link to our own liberty and security.
But we haFve also understood that our nation’s strength and influence abroad must be firmly anchored in our prosperity at home.
(I’ve been trying to make this same point since Obama took office. But it is Obama himself (along with Reid and Pelosi, most Dems and a handful of Repubs) who has made us less prosperous. An alien from outer space would have to conclude that Obama must be trying to make us less prosperous. I don’t believe that, but I can see how some would.)
And the bedrock of that prosperity must be a growing middle class.
Unfortunately, over the last decade, we have not done what is necessary to shore up the foundation of our own prosperity.
We have spent over a trillion dollars at war, often financed by borrowing from overseas.
This, in turn, has short-changed investments in our own people, and contributed to record deficits.
(Puh-lease, Obama! If Bush spent like a drunken sailor, then you are spending like a crack addict! Actually, it’s pretty amazing that Bush was able to keep deficits at a sustainable level (in terms of percent of GDP) given all of his spending. That’s because Bush grew the pie. Under Obama, we have increased spending and an ever-shrinking pie.)
No Obamapong last night. Read the prompter head on and looked very uncomfortable. It was a really bad performance for an occasion that deserved the Best.
And they also seem to be saying he doesn't care whether we know it or not!

Not sure I could take it.
I believe that many Dems are hoping that if the GOP can pick up Congress so they'll have a place to dump blame--allowing them to rebound in 2012.
