The rivers run 24/7/365 & produce various amounts of hydroelectric power. People use power 24/7/365.
Solar will be costly- & inconsistent. There is definately NOT 365 days of sunshine in that area.
None of these dams are clones of the Hoover Dam.

Couldn’t vote on the above because the poll now is about banning dredging in Oregon. At least it is going the Right way, too.

Hydropower can't be replaced by solar or wind. The latter two are good only during certain portions of the day - when the sun is out and when the right level of wind is blowing. Hydropower is stored power that can be released when it is needed the most during hours of peak usage. It also produces a great deal more energy than the other renewables and is clean energy.
http://users.sisqtel.net/armstrng/dam__removal.htm I am opposed to dam removal, designations of huge national monuments; the taking of water use rights through the endangered species acts; the regulation of groundwater usage through the public trust doctrine; the shut down of management of our National Forests through serial lawsuits; the use of wildfire to “achieve management objectives” (which appear to be burning down hundreds of thousands of acres of forest;) the use of the clean water act to require permits for farming; shutting down suction dredge mining and the economy of my small communities; and every other damnable regulatory strategy they are throwing at us to try and push us off our lands.
