Number of illegal immigrants in US now declining (Propagand Alert)
YahooNews ^

WASHINGTON – The number of illegal immigrants living in the U.S. has dropped for the first time in two decades — decreasing by 8 percent as the sour economy dried up jobs and increased enforcement made it harder to sneak across the border with Mexico, a new study finds.

Much of the decline comes from a sharp drop-off in illegal immigrants from the Caribbean, Central America and South America attempting to cross the southern border of the U.S., according to the Pew Hispanic Center, which based its report on an analysis of 2009 census data.

The findings come amid bitter debate over Arizona's strict new immigration law, which was passed earlier this year but is on hold for now as it is challenged in federal court. The Obama administration contends the state law usurps federal authority and promotes racial profiling, while Arizona leaders say states are justified to step in if federal enforcement falls substantially short.

ABC News Radio has been pushing this all day. It’s a coordinated effort to create the impression that all of the illegal hooplah isn’t worth discussing.

English Translation: Mexico is stopping illegal aliens from from the Caribbean, Central America and South America from crossing through Mexico.

It’s been all over the news today. Perhaps this is obama’s real plan — destroy the US economy, the illegals won’t come — now everybody’s happy.

Zero needs to do a little reading...the fact that he is, himself, illegal is not boding well for his efforts. He would be most happy if we would allow illegals from “south of the border” who looked like, acted like and ate like they were from “south of the border” so he could allow the Taliban and other insurgents to infiltrate and take this country from the “illegal” side.

Having spent time in Pakistan, I realize how VERY easy it would be to sneak across the border from Mexico and create havoc on America. They dress the same, they eat the same foods, they are used to the same living conditions and they may get paid more.

The sooner Zero is out of office, the better the world will be. I pray that eventually, he will be exposed for the chatlatain thief he really is.

This article is an outright lie; anyone who lives within 10 miles of NYC knows that there are now twice as many of them here as there were last year (and they’ve reached the Delaware River). Who are you going to believe, some rag or your lying eyes?

the WOD is working perfectly if you are looking for perpetual justification for increased funding and employment in the LEO arena. it’s also why it will never be won (over).

>> If this is true, and it maybe, I find it proof that the Arizona law works.

No, it just means there are fewer people in Mexico.

That is based on the decrease of flow into the US, not a domestic head count.

They probably just found out what a great deal welfare is in NY State.

Back in the 80s an old guy in Texas told me “son if we had welfare like you Yankees up north, half the population of Mexico would move here tomorrow”

"It's hard to figure out how much of the decline to attribute to the bad economy and how much to federal immigration enforcement, said Jeffrey Passel, a senior demographer at Pew who co-wrote the analysis."

MAYBE you "figure" with blinders on Jeffrey? After we granted blanket amnesty many years ago we as well saw a decrease -a dramatic decrease... Not too hard to 'figure' that one out...

Jeffrey, I would be quite interested to see IF we have a comparable increase in 'legal' immigrants due to backdoor amnesty policies?

I would believe it. Obama and the rest of his liberal buddies have turned this into a country that the illegals want to flee from

It's a coordinated effort to create the impression that all of the illegal hooplah isn't worth discussing.

That could be part of it, but they could also be creating the impression that the Obama Administration is doing a good job in controlling the problem.

If the estimates are correct, it's bad news for the Democrats because there is less of a pool of illegal voters who can participate in election fraud schemes.

That is based on the decrease of flow into the US, not a domestic head count.

It is based upon a comparison between previous census data and 2009 census data; RE: "according to the Pew Hispanic Center, which based its report on an analysis of 2009 census data"; this data was 'used' to extrapolate a supposed 'flow' rate that applies to now.

IF they could measure flow THEN they could stop flow. We see here some creative statistics...

Do you happen do know just what the questions pertain to answering in the affirmative as to "illegal alien status"?

I am sure that the data is quite accurate from these unofficial and partial sample counts -yes most assuredly on the up and up. One thing does bother me though -HOW exactly does one get an accurate count by sampling?

>> It is based upon a comparison between previous census data and 2009 census data

Sorry about the confusion. My second post was a correction of the first where I meant to refer to this:

Study: Illegal immigration from Mexico declines overall, but not in Texas
The unlawful flow of Mexican immigrants into the U.S. continues to slow, and the nation's illegal immigrant population is down by nearly 1 million people, the Pew Hispanic Center said in a report released today.

I left out a vital comma in the postal continuation:
That is, based on the decrease of flow into the US, not a domestic head count.
