The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
Gee ML...that would have been a great story to share! :)
I never met Dubya, but I DID get to HUG Lt. Col. Allen West in 105 degree sunshine.
Thanks for the great photos. Happy New Year to all the Dosers!!
He is a good man and I hope he and his dear wife are enjoying their retirement
Hi! How are you doing these days? Did you or anyone else see where Lauren Bush got married to Ralph Lauren’s son? I posted it on here, but I’m not sure if anyone saw it. I didn’t get an answer. She got married in Colorado, on a ranch. The wedding had a wild-west theme!
George and Laura were there w/their daughters, and some other relatives. The elderly Bushs were not able to be there, because of the altitude where the property was. Their health was so that the high altitude wouldn’t have been good for them!

I have found some news of her she has been named 2012 Citizen of the West. See link below

Oh, thank you snugs, for sending me this article. Its strange how she has popped into my mind over the past few years and since I hadn’t seen her in such a long time, I had been concerned about her.
I guess she was tired of the spotlight after so many years of political life. Can’t say I blame her and I know from the article that she wastes no time. She’s doing quality things. She was a special lady!
Hope things are going well with you and your Dad! ((HUGS))
snugs, good to ‘see’ you again!! Thanks for the pics of the Cheney’s and the link to the story on Mrs. Cheney!
Hope you are well and hope your Dad’s health is good. I wish you, both, a happy and, especially, a healthy 2012!
pattyvita, THANK YOU for these wonderful, recent pictures of the Bush family! Wish I was at the Gasparilla Inn when W so graciously took pictures with the guests at the Inn!
My pleasure, everyone. It’s all in a week’s worth of researching and digging up those cool photos. The Bushes look fabulous don’t they? Tanned and rested! So stay tuned to see more photos of Pres. Bush and the family in the coming weeks and months! :)
Thanks snugs for the Cheney pics and article. Your contribution to this thread is very much appreciated. Please keep us informed on any updates/photos on Vice President Cheney and his wife Lynne.
Welcome back!
His name is Walker Bush. He is 22 years old, the nephew of Pres. George
W. Bush, the grandson of Pres. George HW Bush and the son of Marvin
Bush. He is either being deployed today or already has been yesterday.
God bless this young man and please keep him in your prayers for his safe journey.
Profile: PFC Walker Bush
BY MARCY SHORTUSE - Walker Bush never questioned what he was going to do when he grew up. As a child growing up in Alexandria, Va. his whole life focused around sports. If it had anything to do with a ball, he played it.
But being a professional athlete is the stuff that pipe dreams are made of, and as Walker progressed through college he realized he might need a Plan B to back him up.
As he sat on his parents porch in Boca Grande, he looked just like the laid-back kid he had described himself as being his whole life.
It certainly cant be that easy to live a Zen life with Secret Service around your family so much of the time, but he pulls it off.
I never really thought about politics or anything, he said. Thats not me at all. When I was little I never much thought about what I would do. Im one of those guys who kind of just says, Whatever. I definitely never thought I would be going into the Marine Corps.

Barbara Bush just posted this pic of her, Walker and Jenna on her Facebook page last night.
Im assuming that the photo was taken while the Bush family was on vacation in Florida last week.
Barbara also wrote this heartfelt message to her cousin:
I was among the 14 people who clicked like on her message! ;)
Heres the link to Barbara Bushs Facebook page
Could not get in her page but am proud of him.
Thanks for finding and posting. What a genuine humble human being
God Bless You, Walker Bush! Thank you for your service.
Thanks for all the pictures and for the heads up on this news. Prayers of safety for this young hero!
Uh how do you get on her page? There isn’t even an option to friend her....
Whoops, sorry about that! Technically, I’m not Barbara Bush’s FB friend. However I am a Facebook friend with her cousin Ashley Bush so through a loophole, I was able to snatch the photo and message from Barbara’s FB page.
I wish Barbara would make her own public FB page or create a Twitter account. Hope she’ll consider about that!
