A Month in the life of George W. Bush (News and many Photos) September 2005
georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news ^ | September 5, 2010

Posted on 09/05/2010 5:29:14 PM PDT by Kaslin

The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bush’s Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005

Nah, President and Laura Bush will probably leave Washington DC rather quickly after the ceremony ends.

Here’s two good, well-written articles on President Bush’s golf outing in Bedford Springs, Pennsylvania on Thursday, May 24th. The first one is from a blog site:

Bush visits, golfs at Bedford Springs

By the Gazette staff (bedfordgazette.com)

Former President George W. Bush made a stop at Omni Bedford Springs Thursday.

The president flew into the Bedford County Airport in a Gulfstream 450 owned by the Omni hotel chain, according to H. Ray Jennings, airport manager.

The jet was expected at 10 a.m. but arrived about 11:20 a.m., Jennings said. Bush was to fly in last year but poor weather prevented that trip, Jennings said.

Eric Wise, owner of E.W. Wise Hardscaping and Excavating, said he was tipped off that the president was coming. He was out on a job near the airport and when he saw the jet flying over he knew it was true.

“He was a heckuva nice guy. He was going to get into a Suburban and go the Springs,” Wise said. Instead, he got out of the vehicle and walked toward a small crowd of about 15 people to shake hands, talk briefly and pose for photos.

“I knew he was going to play at the Springs,” Wise said. He told the president that he played at the Springs golf course recently and that it was in great shape. And he said he was excited to go there.”

“He said he was the 13th president to stay at the Springs,” Wise said.

Jennings said youngsters made up a couple signs reading, “We miss you.”

It made an impression on both Wise and Jennings that Bush took his own golf bag out of the jet and loaded it into the vehicle himself.

“He was probably there about 10 minutes and shook all of our hands, every one of us,” Wise said. “I wrapped my arm around him and he wrapped his arm around me,” to take a once-in-a-lifetime photo for Wise.

“He seemed like a very good guy,” Wise said.

Bush also was spotted on the golf course later in the day. Several local residents of the Springs area spotted the entourage and either waved or greeted Bush. He was accompanied by Mark Langdale, the fellow Texan who was the Springs developer and now is president of the George W. Bush Foundation.

The Springs made Travel & Leisure’s Top 500 Resorts for 2011 and 12; and the magazine’s top 10 for World’s Best Values and Best Value Overall in the U.S. and Canada.

In 2010, the golf course was named to Golfweek’s best resort courses list for 2010.

The Springs not only has received accolades for its resort, spa and golfing but it is also a National Historic Landmark.

I’ve linked the photo of Pres. Bush arriving at the Bedford County airport since there’s a watermark on it.

Ex-president Bush plays golf in Bedford

May 25, 2012

By Ryan Brown (rbrown@altoonamirror.com), The Altoona Mirror

BEDFORD - A man in golf gear stood near a nondescript SUV at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort golf course Thursday.

Holstered to his khakis was an automatic handgun; in his ear was a radio receiver.

He was a Secret Service agent sent to guard George W. Bush as the former president took in a round of golf at the Bedford County resort.

The country's 43rd president took a private jet Thursday morning from Texas to the Bedford County Airport, where agents escorted him for an afternoon golf foursome.

"It's a beautiful part of the state," Bush said to a group of neighbors as he and three companions took turns swinging near Sweet Root Road.

Bush, an avid golfer, doffed his cap after a long drive down the fairway.

"How're you doing?" he asked each time a neighboring family turned out for a glimpse.

"We miss you," one neighbor shouted.

Well, from a rational point of view, yes the Arab Spring has turned into a colossal disaster no thanks to the corrupt leadership of the Obama administration. Are you actually blaming Bush for what happened over there? I sure hope not!

From every point of view - other than that of a radical Muslim, the Arab spring has been a disaster.

Many of us were foolish enough to believe these people wanted a better life. We dreamed they were advanced enough to want freedom. They aren't - Bush didn't know that back then - none of us did. Obama and dems had the advantage of years dealing with these issues, They knew the Arab Spring would result in Iranian type religious control...

Arabs don't want democracy - they want the 'stuff' that comes from a democratic system - but they want that 'stuff' produced using 7th century ideas as the engine. And that's not ever going to happen...

Muslims need outside force controlling their every move and thought - prayers 5 times a day facing this way - comb your hair THAT way, wipe your butt this way.... etc - the antithesis of freedom. Poverty, humiliations, subjugation of women, and the exploitation of children become perks. Those 'perks' don't contribute to creating a modern productive culture. If Islam isn't the dream religion of small-minded control freaks, then nothing is...

Will any of us ever believe these people want 'freedom' again? I doubt it. Only the MSM and uber die-hard liberals will fall for that one any time soon.

I'm curious - what would make you ask? I'm a mixture of Irish, German, English, French, Austrian, and two things I've forgotten. No Arab blood. All western and eastern European...

Yep, those are fine-looking legs all right! At least our President waited until after he left office to play golf again unlike that Obozo who has played a million golf games and nobody from the MSM says boo about it!

The small market local media usually does a great job of reporting accurately on stories involving Pres. Bush whereever he visits someplace. They don’t have the hostile bias towards him as opposed to the lib MSM who report from New York or DC and express their disgust when it comes to GW.

Thanks 4integrity, same to you!

I find it interesting that you would assume an entire group of people is not ready for democracy despite the fact that most Christians believe it is the God given right of every person to be free. I find it REALLY hard to believe that out of a BILLION Muslims, there aren't a handful or two who are up to the challenge.

Thanks pattyvista for the regular reminders of how real leaders behave.

This morning President and Mrs Bush's daughter was on Fox and Friends and Steve Doocy talked with her about the upcoming portrait hanging of her father in the White House. Steve asked her where she thinks the 0bama's are going to hang the portrait. She replied jokingly probably in farthest corner and then said just kidding. I would not be surprised if that arrogant pos and Moochele will hang the portrait in the farthest corner.

Steve Doocy also asked her about her work with UNICEF. Anyway here is the video

I wouldn't be surprised if the Obama's didn't hang the portrait at all.

It may have to wait until January when the new guard takes over. ;)

Thanks for the info, Kaslin! Jenna's a sweetheart, just like her Dad!
