GAINESVILLE - FBI agents visited today with a minister of a small Florida church that plans to burn the Quran on Sept. 11, as public safety became a paramount concern and President Barack Obama added his voice to the chorus of opposition. Elsewhere, hundreds of angry Afghans burned an American flag and chanted "Death to the Christians" to protest the planned burning of Islam's holiest text. Obama urged the Rev. That's right but it was low key and the media wasn't making much of it. Someone as high up as Petraeus mentioning it in the manner that he did pretty much demanded that the media cover it at that point.

The buck stops with the Commander in Chief...Obama....but I agree that Petraeus should have never elevated the whole thing. My guess was that the media asked him to comment on the whole thing or else Obama did. This doesn’t sound like something Petraeus would have done on his own.

Obama said the Muslim holiday is a time to reflect on the importance of religious tolerance and to honor the positive role all religions have played in American life.

Pentagon weighs call to try to dissuade pastor from burning Korans
The Pentagon’s top spokesman suggested Thursday that a senior official from the Defense Department might call the Florida pastor who has threatened to burn Korans this Saturday and strongly urge him to abandon his plans.
In recent days, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Gen. David H. Petraeus have spoken out forcefully to say that the Koran burning would put the lives of U.S. troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan at risk. A personal call from the Obama administration to the obscure pastor demonstrates how quickly a marginal figure can vault himself to international promience.
Terry Jones, the pastor, told reporters that he might drop plans to burn the Korans if someone from the Pentagon, State Department or Obama administration called him personally to urge him to change course. The fact that senior administration officials are even considering a personal call to Jones shows how deeply concerned they are by the actions of the pastor, who oversees a church of only 50 people.

More BS incitement from the lamestream Obama media..(eye roll)! This kind of crap makes me sick. If we get attacked on saturday(911), the fault can be laid squarely on the shoulders of the media, Obama and of course the barbarian Islamists.
I don’t mind them making the money as long as they’re not cowards. I think Hannity is more assertive on his radio show than he is his FNC show.
