I was standing in the living room in front of the TV with my mouth hanging open.
On that day I was visiting a friend who was fighting lung cancer. He was in a morphine induced sleep during the attacks.
When he woke up he was all smiles. I sat him down to tell him of the day’s events and he thought I was joking, then the TV came out of commercial break and showed the replays.
He was a Korean War/Viet Nam vet. His words were few: “We are going to war.”
