I am willing to be totally wrong. Obama is using Alinsky tactics - identify, isolate, destroy. However, Boehner just cut him off at the hips by saying, of course he would never vote against tax cuts but that keeping all cuts is a better strategy. Where is Obama to go now?
I liked the move by Boehner, he took away their issue once again. It really was his only play, thinking long term. You take control and then hold ODumbo hostage with tax bills which don't drop the marginal rates but increase and increase deductions for wealth generators. I agree that asking for perfection is the enemy of the good in this case. Sometimes you just have to be pragmatists. Even the Founding Fathers who have been elevated erroneously as being purely principled men knew about political expediency.
