NRSC Will Not Support O'Donnell [Update: NRSC now says it will support O'Donnell]

Full statement by John Cornyn, head of the NRSC:

“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.

“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.

“We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party's reckless spending policies in Washington.

“In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November. While it's not in Republicans' interest to advertise our spending strategy to our opponents, it's worth noting that just yesterday, the NRSC's first independent expenditure ad aired in support of Dr. Rand Paul's campaign in Kentucky, where we firmly believe that he will win in November.

“It remains to be seen whether national Democrats will provide a similar level of support for many of their nominees, including in key battleground states like Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, Illinois, and New Hampshire, among others. The Democrats' indecision reflects the fact that Republicans are on offense in at least 12 Democrat-held states and we are leading in the polls in seven of those 12 states.

“Finally, on the matter of the New Hampshire Senate race, while the results remain outstanding, we continue to monitor the Republican primary race, and we stand ready to fully support whichever candidate is chosen as the nominee.”

The power elite does not like losing power.

Rinos are not part of the power elite. They are there to serve the Liberal establishment. The media, democrats, and every other liberal trying to sell a book could care less about them.

We should send a letter to the “Young Guns” Eric Cantor of Virginia, Kevin McCarthy of California, and Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.

Inform them Steele and his minions are F-ing up the party and there will be no more donations to the RNC and we may even set up a funding and marketing mechanism in opposition to them.

Hell, we could start our own whisper campaigns.

Pssst... “Word has it John McCain has a tramp stamp on his lower back and supports the right of return for the Paleostunians”.

Let him deny it.

John Cornyn is done. I will personally run against him if I must.

I'll be your county chair in my county.

I was Cornyn's county chair last election....until I quit before the election.

Isn't Michael Williams running for his or Kay's seat? I'm afraid Obama will hurt Blacks running for office for a loooong time!

I certainly hope you haven’t been sending them money! They’re just using it against us! Send contributions directly to the candidate.

Not in many years... they constantly mail and call. I support candidates on a local level and occasionally from other states. I will send money to O'Donnell though!

You may be right. But that (R) may be just the seat that puts the gavel in the hand of a new Majority Leader and in all the committees. That is the larger point that is too often missed, I think. That one (R) can possibly decide which Supreme Court nominee moves out of the Judiciary Committee, for example.

It comes down to who is setting the agenda.

Progressives are Progressives, whether they are the Democrats or the NRSC.

Those who look to preserve the Founders' principles must look elsewhere for help.

The message here is do not give money to the RNC or the NRSC until they provide the same level of support to candidates supported by Taxed Enough Already citizens' groups as they do to their incumbents!

Power must equal power, and the power of "We, the People" can prevail if we are consistent, persistent, and unrelenting in our opposition to Progressive Republicans posing as conservatives.

Give money directly to candidates who are committed to the Founders' ideas of liberty: limited government, term limits, drastic reduction in spending, cuts in taxes on all productive citizens, personal responsibility and accountability, and recognition of the role of Divine Providence in the affairs of men and nations.

The Goal is… I agree.

Let this be a lesson to all those which believe the lesser of two evils delivers better results…

RINOs, RATS and Charlatans are no better than a parasitic infection upon a healthy body.

-- How could someone whose loses the primary by such a large margin be more "electable" than the winner? --

Different populations of voters in the general election, compared with in the primary. Say, for example, the general has twice as many Democrats voting as Republicans; and none of the Democrats vote for O'Donnell - she loses 2:1.

Obviously, those aren't the "real" numbers, but that's how the two election results can be so different. The GOP claims it needs to be effectively DEM to get those votes. My reaction is to concede the state.

Plus, if the federal government was properly sized (about 2% of its current size), who cares?

I thought it was already over when they installed Steele. A huge disappointment.

We the people it’s time to wake from our slumber and reclaim what we almost lost.

Another significant mark on the timeline 11/2/10

“Castle was a democrat candidate...just the right wing of the DNC running with an (R) after his name.”

You are absolutely right. He voted FOR Cap and Tax, among other things. I bet in the end the Castle losers end up have a Scuzzafazza moment and wind up endorsing Coons. The Castle people have already shown a lot of their true colors. Let’s see if they show all of them.

When I heard about this I immediately sent a $1,000. check to the NRSC and voided it out. If they got 5000 of them this week with a letter of explanation they may get the point.
