NRSC Will Not Support O'Donnell [Update: NRSC now says it will support O'Donnell]
Fox News | 14 September 2010

Full statement by John Cornyn, head of the NRSC:

“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.

“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.

“We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party's reckless spending policies in Washington.

“In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November. While it's not in Republicans' interest to advertise our spending strategy to our opponents, it's worth noting that just yesterday, the NRSC's first independent expenditure ad aired in support of Dr. Rand Paul's campaign in Kentucky, where we firmly believe that he will win in November.

“It remains to be seen whether national Democrats will provide a similar level of support for many of their nominees, including in key battleground states like Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, Illinois, and New Hampshire, among others. The Democrats' indecision reflects the fact that Republicans are on offense in at least 12 Democrat-held states and we are leading in the polls in seven of those 12 states.

“Finally, on the matter of the New Hampshire Senate race, while the results remain outstanding, we continue to monitor the Republican primary race, and we stand ready to fully support whichever candidate is chosen as the nominee.”

“…chances of winning…”

And where does this logic get us; wolves in sheep’s clothing, known as RINOs.

If this was the peoples’ choice then the RNC and others should back the winner; they backed that first class loser McShame!

We are the republican party now. Establishment has to follow. Tea party candidates won in almost all the primaries and it is clear that, we make the party.

Correct. Their statement that they won’t support O’Donnell is their concession of defeat. They have told us that it is up to us to elect her and others that we choose over their better judgment. The internet has made them obsolete. We can decide now without them and we can win without them.

Everyone:

Please channel this anger by contributing to Jim Demint’s Senate Conservatives PAC. Remember, he endorsed O’Donnell.

Baby.......that’s been my motto for quite some time, now. NEVER another dime from me. My own mother worked her ass off for YEARS during the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s to forward the Republican party in this state (which was Democratic since the end of the Civil War).

I’m utterly disgusted.

I give to ‘individual’ campaigns that I research to be conservative. The RNC is dead to me until they shape up.

We accept no more excuses. We will starve the elite... and I have been since the ‘08 election... I have however, given heavily to Conservative candidates... and will only donate directly to those that are truly Conservative... I am not alone... that is why the repubics have little money.

You may be right. But that (R) may be just the seat that puts the gavel in the hand of a new Majority Leader and in all the committees. That is the larger point that is too often missed, I think. That one (R) can possibly decide which Supreme Court nominee moves out of the Judiciary Committee, for example. It comes down to who is setting the agenda.

If that were true than you an blame the RNC for not supporting republican candidates.

If the democrats retain control, it's the RNC's fault.

From the Washington Compost:

“The Delaware result is also a major blow to Republicans’ hopes of winning back the Senate majority this fall. To do so, the GOP needs a net gain of 10 seats, which, with Delaware now likely to favor Democrats, means that Republicans need to close to a clean sweep in states like California, Wisconsin and Washington.”

LOL!

What’s different is it our choice, not those country club GOP’rs, who can shove up their ____ sideways and howl at the moon.

I am happy to continue losing until we get our choices.

Scuzzyfoza? That was BS and Steele can go to hell. I thought I didn’t like Clinton and got over it but to have your own guys throwing water in your face, stabbing you in the back and doing it all with a smile?

I wish JR would let me get away with some creative writing full of expletives.

is it possible for RNC to declare bankrupt? They are low on cash on hand, but have a huge debt. They rely totally on donates to pay the interest and principal of the debt. If theres a sharp decline in donations, they’re screwed

I guess it’s better to fight the battle and lose than to not fight at all. We are at war with liberalism, it doesn’t matter whether it’s Republican or Democrat liberalism. They are one and the same. If the Dems hold on to the senate it will make it that much easier for conservatives to win in 2012.
