The man, aged 29, was arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
He was taken from a home in north London and is being interviewed by detectives.
Five of the suspects already arrested, who are aged 26, 27, 36, 40 and 50, are thought to have worked as street clearners and are being held and questioned under the Terrorism Act 2000.
Armed counter-terror officers swooped on the central London agency to which they were registered in the early hours of the morning.
The firm where the arrests were made is now being searched, as well as homes in north and east London.
Sky News crime correspondent Martin Brunt said earlier that at least five of the men were North Africans employed by the agency to work for Westminster City Council.
He said they had been about to start a day shift that would have included cleaning streets around Westminster Hall, where the Pope spoke this afternoon, when they were arrested.
Brunt said: "I was at a briefing last week around the whole issue of the Pope's security and the point was made then that there was no known threat or intelligence to suggest a plot against the Pope.
"What the police are dealing with today is something that has cropped up in the last 24 hours."

Those wacky Amish...!
North Africans? LOL
Mostly Algerians, apparently. They are foreign born and aren’t UK citizens, but apparently are legal residents and are employed by the city.
As I understand, there are more Muslims in North Africa, whereas South Africa is more Christian.
Let’s hire foreign Muslims to do maintenance around government buildings! What could go wrong?
Ijust watched the Sky feed to Fox. The Sky reporter never mentioned who these men were at all. What chickenshit reporting, I guess Sky News was afraid of offending a muslim
“North africans” could fool some fools into missing these would be terrorists were Mororrcan and Algerian .
God are we all going to bow to muslims in fear?
Algeria... lots of history there.
So, are they picking a fight now with the Irish IRA & the Italian Mafia?
Terrorist Vs Terrorist Death Match?
That would be fun to watch -
I saw that episode on The Most Dangerous Warrior (something like that. It's a TV show.)
Mad Methodists?
Perturbed Presbyterians?
Belligerent Baptists?
Angry Anglicans?
Querulous Quakers?
Those North African Amish, are very progressive. They have TV's, refrigerators, cell phones, C4 and shoulder launched missiles.
ROFL!!!
I guess the authorities are having trouble learning their names.
From Audacity of Hope: I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
Assassinating the Pope is an ugly direction.
