I sometimes think that a Repulican big shot should work with a friend in the media, and a friend on the Lobbyist side, and a lawyer -- and set up an exact equivalent. Then "leak" the tape to the NYT.

Then, after a week of 24/7 coverage, they can all step forward and say it was a hoax -- and oh, by the way, where were you guys when Eleanor Holmes Norton did this for real??
