Murkowski supporters: come to "campaign kickoff" tonight - write in campaign a go?
Anchorage Daily News ^ | 091710

Lisa Murkowski supporters are urging people to come out tonight for what’s being called a “campaign kick off,” although her campaign manager isn’t ready to say that she’s decided to run.

Bonnie Jack, who was a Murkowski campaign elections observer for the count of absentee votes, sent out an email this morning. “Join us at the Kick-off of Senator Lisa's campaign -- with a theme of "write in her name in and fill in the oval."

"Denai'na Convention Center, third floor and hopefully out on the sunny deck, 5 pm. Bring your family including children, friends and business associates. We plan to make history!”

Jack confirmed to me that she sent the email, and indicated that obviously the conclusion to be drawn from it is that Murkowski is running.

“and it might help those RINOs like McCain that survived to “Stay on the true Conservative Path”

Doubtful - but we can dream.

“And the GOP needs to move quickly to strip her of her affilliation, all committees, and funding.”

Out of curiosity - does this mean she won’t caucus with the Rs during the lame duck session?

“She’ll get all the conservatives, and Castle and Coons can split the liberals.”

LOL - that would be good news. I’m sure that Castle and the marxist with a beard Coons have and are consulting closely. I’m sure Krauthammer and Rove will cover all the action...

“why aren’t they stripping her from leadership NOW!”

There’s a civil war going on in the Senate. DeMint is leading the rebellion with his band of SCF candidates...They are desperately clinging to “their” power.

“They better start listening to the People because we are taking over. The RINOs can go pound sand and start their own party.”

Yes!

Well it will be tough for her to win it. I am not from Alaska so I don’t know how well this will fare for her.

Yes but didn't we do this in NY last year? It is pretty similar. Both will result in a loss for the Republican though.

I’m sorry I don’t live in Alaska. I’d love to write-in Murkowski’s name - for Coastal Resource Service Area Board Member (or if there’s anything lower on the undercard, I could go for that as well).

MUR COW SKI will be joing CNN/MSNBC as soon as she loses in Nov.

Probably will team up with Karren Hanretty and Mark Mcinnon in some fashion.

So for the last 100 years when the RINO won and the conservative lost, we were told to get behind the RINO for the good of the party. But now when we win, all bets are off.

We learned that back in the 1990s here in NJ. Whenever a conservative won a primary, the RINOs supported the Democrats.

Bingo !!

That is exactly what is going on. Its a cat fight. The Cow (Murcowski) vs Palin.

I wonder why Palin didnt run for Senator. I think if she won as senator it would have given her a good platform to convey her views to America. It would also have given her a “win.”

In any event, you are right. This is a pissing contest between the Cow and Palin.

It has never been the democrats we had to worry about; we already know what they are and so do they.

It has always been the “enemy within”, i.e. the RINOs. The cancer within! No one or no peoples can withstand being destroyed from within. We have been played for a long time by the DC “elitist” GOPers like Rove, Newt, etc as well as the “Obama GOP” in the Senate and Congress like Murk, Snowe, Crist, etc....

The RINOs are killing us and this country.

By exposing this ‘if i can't be quarterback, I'll take the ball and leave the game’ attitude, this scum has proven she would not have been the right candidate to vote into the position of representing the people. And that is perhaps the only consolation since she is now trying her damnedest to get the democrat elected.

It’s much worse than simply being a sore loser. It’s the action of someone who is so selfish they put themselves before the good of their party. It’s the action of someone for whom power is so important they just can’t let go, even if not letting go could jeopardize the “supposed” principals she espouses.

It will be interesting to see if she experiences an epiphany on many of the issues a al Charlie Crist. Good riddance Lisa - you disgust me.

Ultimately, Murkowski herself decides with whom she'll caucus, and of course alot depends on the outcome of the general election. The GOP may not be willing to write her off so quickly for those reasons.

I wonder why Palin didnt run for Senator.

The 2008 election was unusual in that it guaranteed one new Senate -> President promotion. Going from a Senate position to President is rare. Only 16 people have done it. See: the list of people who have done it before. Harding and Truman were the last two of three to do it. Obama was the third.

Of the two, I think I'd rather have a Senate position. As long as you're not a total screw up, a place in the Senate is for as long as you want it. Great pay, great benefits, great perks, and you only have to work once every six years to get reelected.

To answer your question, Governor has traditionally been a better on-the-job training position for President. In fact, only one other person who has been a sitting senator when elected President - Warren Harding. (JFK doesn't count as his Senatorial term was expiring).

“The only conservative I’ve ever seen commit this kind of vicious stupidity is Tom Tancredo.”

Last I saw Tom was beating Maes in the polls. Perhaps the pubbie should drop out of that race.
