Obama Falls on Sword:I Didn't Make Case for Healthcare (The title's 1st part attracted me to story)

Blaming himself for coolness to his healthcare overhaul, President Barack Obama is seeking to reintroduce the law to voters who don't much like or understand it six months after he signed it.

The White House gathered patients from around the country who have benefited from the measure, and the president rolled up his sleeves to address them Wednesday in a sunny Virginia backyard, highlighting changes that take effect at the six-month mark on Thursday. These include a ban on lifetime coverage limits, as well as free coverage for preventive care and immunizations. Young adults will be able to stay on their parents' plans until they turn 26, and kids with pre-existing health conditions won't be denied coverage.

"We just got to give people some basic peace of mind," the president said.

"I thank you from the bottom of my heart," Norma Byrne of Vineland, N.J., told the president, explaining she was benefiting from the law's provisions that are closing a Medicare coverage gap for prescription drugs.

But such gratitude isn't the norm.

A new Associated Press poll finds high levels of misunderstanding about what's actually in the law, and more people opposed than in support. And with crucial midterm elections six weeks away, the only Democrats running ads about the historic legislation are the ones who voted "no."

"The six-month anniversary of Obamacare will be a lonely one for President Obama and congressional Democrats," Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said Wednesday. "The president's plan was unpopular when it was passed in March, and today the wholesale takeover of the American health care system is undeniably radioactive."

Obama ruefully told his listeners, "Sometimes I fault myself for not being able to make the case more clearly to the country."

Newsmax seems to offer a rather crude picture in the feature title that some may not appreciate.

I should have spotted it was just a metaphor.

“A new Associated Press poll finds high levels of misunderstanding about what’s actually in the law”

How about the part where everyone is forced to buy insurance? Is that a misunderstanding?

I am trying to find out if medical or medicaid will cover kids up to 26 on these so called policies.. so far I am getting the run around, no body knows.. DiFi office said it was a federal bill, and probably did not cover state medicaid plans, but she wasn't sure.. gave me two web sites to troll thru, and two numbers to call, the Ca state number she gave me did not know, and gave me another number to call.. I keep saying Obama said..surely he meant it..

He didn’t “make the case” for healthcare?

Hell’s bells, he never had ownership of it. He deferred to Congress, and it cooked his goose.

A president ought to know better than that. Control the issue. Mr. Obama didn’t do that. He gave it away, willingly.

And who could understand a bill like this one? All I know is this: If we don’t kill it outright, this monster will slay the economy.

These include a ban on lifetime coverage limits,

Why is gubmint interfering in a private transaction?

How will this lower healthcare costs?

(Only if you don't count the price of insurance in the price of healthcare).

free coverage for preventive care and immunizations

Why is gubmint interfering in a private transaction?

Does anybody really believe this will come free ???

Young adults will be able to stay on their parents' plans until they turn 26 Why is gubmint interfering in a private transaction?

Where did the number 26 come from?

Does anybody really believe this will lower healthcare costs?

and kids with pre-existing health conditions won't be denied coverage.

Why is gubmint interfering in a private transaction?

Why are only "kids" affected?

Can my kid get fire insurance after the house catches fire?

How can there be ANY expectation that taxpayers in America understand or like the reform when the guys who voted it into law openly admitted they DID NOT read it! Stupid Nancy said we’d know what was in it once it was made into law.

This is too ridiculous!!

Remember, these are FASCISTS we’re dealing with.
Your questions are rather irrelevant when you consider the end goal is to have just a few “private” insurers under the control of the government,

with a rationing board composed of elite leftists that determine who gets medical care based on “certain criteria”.

“I am trying to find out if medical or medicaid will cover kids up to 26 on these so called policies”

Medicaid is being expanded to cover ANYONE under 133% of poverty (although not this year). This would include 26 year olds even if they weren’t single parents or disabled. Under the old rules, non-disabled adults of that age could not qualify unless they were parents of dependent children etc.

FUBO! Here is my canned response to your crap.

****************

When this “health care for all” crap passes, right now the legislation states that it will be illegal to sell private policies over the date of passage. It also says that HSA’s will no longer be allowed. That means that my current policy will no longer be allowed and neither I nor my employer will be allowed to privately purchase an alternative.

I will not accept the “public option” that I will be dictated to join. I will not give the government control over my physical body. I will not pay their fines, I will not surrender to the impending warrant for my arrest. When they knock on my door, I will not answer. When they kick it in, I will make the news.

How’s that for unification, libtards? You loons are currently legislating my death. I will chose the terms and I will bring as many of you along as possible!

*********************************************

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security”

“cover kids up to 26”

They are touting this like a “child” should be proud to be 26 and still called a “child.” As far as I am concerned, if we are going to call 26 year olds children, then we need to adjust a few laws to account for it. For example, we should change the voting age, age of consent, drinking age, contract age, etc. to 27.

They did this crap when it passed. Pull up some schmuck (Or make up a story) and say what a good deal it was for them.
No one buys this propaganda anymore.
We know the law.
We don’t like the law.
We want the law repealed.
It’s the president and the other Marxists that don’t understand. We refuse to be ruled!

And, if we are referring to 26 year olds as “kids”, then I want to have my taxes recomputed for the years since my children turned 18!!!!!
