Cuomo: No Place In New York For Tea Party
September 27, 2010 11:48 PM

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo had strong words about his opponent Carl Paladino on Monday.

Cuomo addressed reporters after a meeting with black leaders – including former city comptroller William Thompson and Rep. Charlie Rangel.

“I believe his position that we should limit a woman’s right to chose even in the case of rape and incest, I think that’s an extreme position,” Cuomo said, “I think the position about taking families who happen to be on welfare and bringing them to work camps is an extreme position.”

Rangel described Paladino’s rise as “frightening” and said New York was fortunate to have Cuomo.

Thompson went as far as accusing Paladino of being a racist.

“We’re not going to tolerate it, we’re going to stand up and say it and quote it for what it is,” Thompson said.

Cuomo said he wants voters to know that this election is about making a choice.

“There is no place in New York for Tea Party politics,” Cuomo said adding that the party espoused “extremist views.”

Tolerance.
Acceptance.
Open-mindedness.
Diversity.

Well now. It seems we've finally hit on a RAT talking point that actually works - transparency.

I'm kinda new at this whole 'making up the rules as we go along' thing. When, exactly, is a RAT considered an "extremist"?

With the major influx of gays into NYC, it's safe to say there are a lot of people who go both ways.

I’ve noticed that this is a very common tactic when denigrating the Tea Party. They create a strawman by stating outrageous positions and then attack it. It’s either ignorance or deception or both.

Cuomo's H.U.D. Goes Thud
New York Observer, By NYO Staff
FR Posted 9/26/10 by Mr. K

It's no secret that Andrew Cuomo would very much like to occupy the New York Governor's mansion in Albany, preferably as soon as possible, and follow in his father's footsteps.

To win a Democratic primary, Mr. Cuomo would likely lean heavily on his record for the past four years as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. But while he has been very public in claiming success at H.U.D., there is compelling evidence in New York City that New Yorkers should think twice before handing him the keys to their state.

As The New York Times recently reported, HUD fell victim to a scam that has resulted in a promising block of Harlem brownstones ending up as empty, garbage-strewn hulks, and dealt a serious blow to a rising neighborhood.

The H.U.D. program, designed to reward home ownership in poor areas, was hijacked by corrupt speculators who set up fake nonprofit organizations and ran off with H.U.D. loans-money that the taxpayers will now have to pay back. Four hundred and fifty buildings around the city are currently in disarray because of the ruse.

Federal and state prosecutors have charged 16 people. Although Mr. Cuomo has talked a great game about his revamping of H.U.D., he was not able to keep his own agency from being swindled. Instead of giving speeches, staging superficial photo ops and going to cocktail parties in Washington, D.C., he might have done better if he had stayed in his office and kept an eye on the details. Does he understand the damage his agency has done to the residents of Harlem who must live amidst the decaying buildings?

Of course, Mr. Cuomo is leaving HUD and Washington now, forced out by a new administration. And his eyes are on New York's top job. ... (Excerpt) Read more at observer.com ...

Cuomo: No Place In New York For Tea Party

Not even near The Ground Zero Mosque?

Cuomo said adding that the party espoused “extremist views.”

I don't suppose the reporter asked him to offer an example. No. Of course not.

Is this the same Rangle who has multiple rent-controlled apartments and who forgot to pay taxes for property he owns in The Bahamas or some such place?

“There is no place in New York for Tea Party politics,”

Well of course not....

Between the moslems, the union thugs, the mob, the gays, the millions of gimme-girls, the ubiquitous RATs, the snotbag limousine liberals, the lamestream media culture, the Blueblood "Republicans" (RINOs) etc....I can see where that might be the case.

Of course "TEA Party politics" is desperately needed.

So, are there any little red specks on the latest NY election map?

Its more like the three Shobboleths:

GUNS!!!!

ABORTIONS!!!!

RACISM!!!!!

The Rats have been misrepresenting conservatives on these suubjects from time immemorial and it generally works in large cities with large unsophisticated populations.

Palladino has to attack Cuomo on issues and trivialize his position on those subjects. There simply isn’t enought time in a campaign to re-educate the ignorant on the right to life, the right to self defense, and the fact that being a cosnervative is not equivalent to being a racist.

The Cuomos are despicable human beings - the utter scum of the sewers and gutters of New York.
