Well, I suppose Jim could fire all the NRA malcontents on this forum if he wished.

But how would that restore or strengthen the NRA?

“Trust us” has its place in politics. I can’t help but notice those “trust us” tickets ain’t sellin’ too good out here in flyover country.

Man Shooter you are rabid NRA. You remind me of Hannity a few years back when he was rabid Republican no matter what they did. Step back and take a breath and stop attacking your friends here. The NRA needs a shake-up just like the Republicans. I do believe you are 100% correct in that the NRA is the organization we need to work through but the leadership needs a wake-up call as they are not what they were in the 80’s. D.C has a way of turning people into mush and the top dogs at the NRA need to know it’s “US” that will have their back in the long run and not the DC fat cats.

Why do we as Americans need a lobbyist group to stand up for us? These are ‘inalienable’ rights, not something to be licensed or protected by a third party... All lobby groups must be disbanded and scattered to the winds...

Self defence is a right. They (The NRA) act as if we have a priveleage to own weapons, they can’t make any money if it is a God-given right... Fnck the NRA and All lobbyist groups....

Let them kick and scream like 3 year olds...

Lobbyists are one of the BIGGEST problems in Waahshington ( yeah, Waahshington ....)right now, and one of the Reasons we are in the mess we are in... They must die like the viral infections that they are...( No actuall harm intended to any babies of any size, unless they don’t quit ) The truth hurts, and we can take it...most of us... We Do Not Need the NRA

Stand up and be counted, we are in a skirmish of a battle in a lasting war. Put on your boots and fight and cut the cord that feeds the beast.

Sucks for the lobby, but who cares? I don’t...

You have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your membership dues.

However, what has taken you so long?

The NRA has been giving money to Democrats for years and years, that's nothing new. It has also supported Dems who switched parties and challenged incumbent Republicans (with better voting records) in the Republican primary.

I dropped my membership in the '90s after being bombarded with pleas for money to help unseat the "anti-gunners" in Congress, which list included some of my favorites.

Let's face it: if the NRA didn't have a few Dems to complain about, their fundraising campaigns would lack the dazzle and spark and memberships would fall off. They do have expenses to meet just like a regular business: payrolls, travel, rent, postage (lots of postage, you bet!) and materials. Life members are expected to carry the load, whether they like it or not.

I guess you're not a big fan of that whole "freedom of assembly" right.

I find it fairly effective to have a representative of an organization I'm a member of going to Congress and telling them he's representing the interests of over 4 million people. A lot more effective and less time consuming than going and trying to talk to all the individual elected representatives at the state and federal level myself. Most of the people I'd be talking to could care less about the logical arguments I could make. They only care about whether or not something will affect their ability to get re-elected.

How is the guy killing the NRA? Please elaborate.

I made that same request. Apparently he can make the claim but can't support it.

Lets see how long the NRA survives without conservatives.

Every Democrat who wins is a vote for Pelosi or Reid.

No one who is pro-gun should be a Democrat.

And no organization that has conservatives in it, should endorse them.

No, they aren't protecting the 2nd Amendment.

The Pro-lifers thought the same thing about Democrats, but had it stuck to them when Pelosi needed the votes.

No Democrat who claims to believe in freedom should be in the Democrat Party, which is an evil Party, bent on this nations destruction.

Not sure I agree with you. If the NRA endorses no Dems, they lose all influence with them. Plus if Reid loses and the Dems keep the Senate, Schumer takes over as majority leader. Bad to much worse.

"Influence" with the Democrats WRT the Second Ammendment means exactly *spit*.

Personally, I've come to the conclusion that the NRA's first priority is the financial position of the NRA. They've set up a system where they need bogeymen to gin up panicky junk mail and the associated income, so they do what they can to ensure they have enough bogeymen to maintain the system. Ain't K Street great!

Oh, the NRA is going to feel the loss of conservatives, espically when it runs to the Democrats to support gun rights and find all they are concerned about is hunting rights.

Work to do-supporting Democrats to retake the Congress?

Those Democrats you are supporting will turn on the 2nd amendement just like the 'pro-life' Democrats did as soon as their votes are needed to pass anti-gun leglislative.

Ofcourse, the NRA will be 'outraged'!

The American People are the defenders of our God given gun rights, not a organization that wants to make compromises with the political elites.

That is why we have elections.

The NRA is providing cover for those who would take those freedoms away.

How are you going to cover the sixty lawsuits the NRA has every year to protect the members.

Gee, and I thought the NRA existed to protect the 2nd Amendement, not its members!

And now you’re supporting the future Majority Leader, Chuckie Schumer.

You mean Minority leader, Schumer.

Loosen up your tinfoil, Mim. The NRA have to tread a careful line to remain effective.

What is effective is defeating the anti-gun Democrat Party.
