Hume Asks About Undisclosed '08 Obama Donors in Wake of W.H.'s Chamber Witch Hunt (Video)
Newsbusters ^ | October 12, 2010 | Jeff Poor

The White House’s current effort to disparage the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is an act of desperation in light of the low poll numbers of the Democratic Party going into the November midterm, as some have pointed out. But perhaps President Barack Obama should address some questions about his own fundraising before attacking other organizations.

On the Oct. 11 broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Special Report with Bret Baier,” former host and network contributor Brit Hume took on the issue of administration officials using the bully pulpit to push these charges. According to Hume, the charges are baseless and even the White House’s allies in the mainstream media are questioning this strategy.

If they really want to go there, wait for others to start asking about their contributors...

Well, it’s about time! I’ve been waiting for this to come up since the Dems first started these attacks.

How about making sure that particular loophole is closed before Obama’s 2012 bid?

Somebody also pointed out that many, many of the untraceable contributions to Obama’s campaign were in dollars and cents, which is typical of a monetary amount that has been converted from another currency. People in the US and using US currency don’t give amounts like $10.22 or $53.47, for example, as political contributions.

I read that Obama is thought to have received over $100 million in foreign contributions, mostly through these small untraceable transactions.

I guess pointing out that public sector contributions to
the Dems that the money comes from the taxpayers would be
a wate of time?

Maybe some are not getting the psy-ops here:

whatever one is guilty of, accuse others of it; that diverts (fools) the obtuse, and is a projection on to others, a common psychological event even subconsciously, of one's own actions (failings).

Look, we are not dealing here with amateurs, just human scum. This is a common operation of the LEFT. They know, like Hollywood, how to manipulate shallow people.

Wasn't the simple election of Barack Obama as President of the United States, a person with virtually no executive experience, mediocre intelligence, and ugly narcissistic values, proof?

This is one of the situations where someone has to follow Web. IMO, there is little doubt that the Obamunists used his phony claims about Internet contributions to launder foreign money. I would imagine that if there were any way to check, a reporter would find that a lot of bogus email addresses were used to make credit card and PayPal contributions.

President 0bama, why did your donation websites INTENTIONALLY turn off the filter that disallowed foreign credit cards?

This really gets to the heart of what depresses me.

After 2000, there was widespread disgust with the voting process. Democrats like Al Gore said that the election was stolen -- that people had misunderstood ballots, or that ballots had been tampered with. Republicans like George Bush had to live under a cloud because so many people felt that he was "selected, not elected".

So, you might think that both the Democrats and the Republicans would push for voting reforms. But, no, neither party found that idea attractive.

Now, we have funding issues. In 2008, a lot of Republicans were upset about undisclosed donors to Obama. In 2010, Obama is upset about undisclosed donors to Republicans.

So, you might think that both the Democrats and the Republicans would push for reforms in this area, and close loopholes. But, no, neither party will find that idea attractive.

I really have to ask myself: why does neither party seem willing to work for a cleaner, more open, more honest system?

The scariest part of the article was the line that both parties do it so nothing is going to happen.

If there is ever a reason fro a COMPLETE change of our leaders living inside the beltway this is it.

Since when, at least in fly over country, does two wrongs make a right? When driving, does two left turns turn you right or does it turn you backwards?

I agree. I figured Hume threw that in as a sop to Fox's "Fair and Balanced" claim. But, I thought it was unwarrented. Besides, the charge was not UNDISCLOSED donors, it was FOREIGN money. There is a big difference.

Why do states like NY have primaries so late that they can repeatedly use that as an excuse to disenfranchise military voters? I suppose the obvious answer there is that it’s run by Democrats who want to exclude military votes. But then, why can’t the military improve its logistics to get its members’ votes in? I never understand that, either.

It is discouraging and it does lend credence to the suspicion that they’re both really on the same team.

stephie was not even allowed to respond, as rove counter attacked for the entire interview... but rove needed to get much meaner and much more accusatory against obama. He did as well as he could... he is no warrior.

All these talking heads are pathetic.

Just repeat whatever lies and accusations the Liberal bloggers puts out there without any fact-checking as a way of supporting their Democrat friends.
