Despite an uproar over his remarks about gays, Carl P. Paladino appeared on national television on Monday and expressed revulsion at gay pride parades.
Mr. Paladino restated his criticism of Andrew M. Cuomo, his Democratic opponent for governor of New York, for having taken his young daughters to a gay pride parade, saying that such events were inappropriate for children.
“Is that normal? Would you do it? Would you take your children to a gay pride parade?” Mr. Paladino asked the host Matt Lauer on the “Today” show, speaking of Mr. Cuomo.
“I don’t think it’s proper for them to go there and watch a couple of grown men grind against each other. I don’t think that’s proper. I think it’s disgusting.”
“No, I don’t regret the remarks,” he added.
On Sunday, Mr. Paladino, speaking to a group of Orthodox Jewish leaders in Brooklyn, said children should not be “brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option — it isn’t.”

I have little doubt that a pretty good percentage of homosexuals feel the same way about what goes on at those pride parades. I know if heterosexuals were behaving in a similar way, in public, I would find it disgusting.

Just why should Paladino be “repentant”? The New York Times just has to slant the news. Someone should ask them why one doesn’t see full TV coverage of one of these events. After all, we are treated to the Macy’s Parade every year.

The public spectacles which occur at gay parades are obscene and despicable and something NO child should be exposed to. As an adult, I don't want to be exposed to them either.

Having seen several of these parades in DC, I have to say he is right. Of course he will be punished for stating an obvious truth. I wonder if Andrew Cuomo has bought his kids a set of chaps yet? Oh, wait, his kids are all girls.
If you have ever attended one they are disgusting. What some of those people do in public at those things would get any other person arrested, but because they are gay, the laws don’t apply to them.
No, I’m not simply talking about the inate gut reaction to vomit by seeing two guys in a liplock, I’m talk out and out public indecency, to say the least.
What goes on at some of these things, by some of the folks at them, would make what happens at swingers resorts look like nothing, but at least at those places they have the decency to do their business behind walls and away from the public eye. Not out in the street where children and everyone else must be forced to be visually assaulted by their behaviors.
This guy should be President.
Hopefully New Yorkers will see that the Democrats are taking their state down. New York is going to be the next Michigan, because the financial industry is gradually going away. It has been since 9/11, after which many companies decentralized. But now it is the taxes. I recently spoke to a guy now living in North Texas who used to live on Long Island. Asked him why he moved. He told me, because he got tired of paying taxes to pay for his neighbor’s pension.
And they (NYT) are losing, the more they try. Looking for repentance for someone who is expousing majority held views.

The news, however, is that Paladino seems bound and determined to maintain the focus on this issue, which represents a foolish choice of battles.
There was plenty of time to pick this fight after he reached the governor's mansion. Picking the fight now plays right into Cuomo's core constituency.
but there is a lot more disgusting about homosexuality than just that. can he skirt civil unions and homomarriage too?
and the only thing i know that approximates a porn parade is SF’s fetish event but it's mostly homosexual too
you can try to shy away to get elected but finding homosexuality something to be kept private as a perverse delight for those who like it is in the end what this is all about and I'm 53 and have kno9wn maybe over 100 homosexuals in my life and I would venture no more than 4-5 were discreet

Elections are about winning. You can't influence the politics in politics, unless you get elected first.
But I guess "ideals conservatives" don't much care about winning anymore.
Paladino speaks the truth. While the media try to paint him as a fringe dwelling bigot, he cites his Catholic faith and common sense ideas about parents looking to the moral welfare of their kids. Such parades are not appropriate for children. Here’s a sample of San Francisco’s Folsom Street Fair as evidence (CONTENT WARNING!):
